Jazz 2017/18 Playoff Bus! All Aboard!

I think UTA did not want #3.
They're a great road team and they must have thought being an underdog is better for this young team. Finish #3 and you're favorites. If you lose you kind of failed. That'd put a lot of pressure on their inexperienced squad.

Coach Q's rotations were rather weird and I don't remember him giving up and benching the starters so early. Also in his postgame interview after the GSW game he said something along the lines "fans want HCA but it's the same to us, you get back to home anyway"

Winning the rebounding battle is going to be critical in this opening series. We have to keep Adams off of the offensive glass and limit OKC to only one shot per possession. If we can do that, play Jazz defense, and knock down a good percentage of our shots we should win this series.

Hopefully Billy Donovan hasn't watched the couple of teams that play their bigs all the way back defensively and have given us the most trouble. I wouldn't expect so, he's not too bright.

I think tonight's loss was disappointing, but in the long-term it will be a good wake-up call for this team. And I think you're right -- we're 14-2 in our last 16 road games. We can go in there and get a game or two.

Last year we were 3-3 on the road in the playoffs, and 1-4 at home.

Oddly, Rubio played only 23 minutes. Shot 5/12 for 17 points. Wonder if he's still taking it easy on the hammy. He played great. Needed more minutes?

First game is Sunday on TNT. I don’t want any more nationally televised games.

****, we lost home court?

My concern is that we've basically laid eggs in several important games this spring. The first Portland game they beat us bad coming out of the All-star break, when we were hot going in. Then we lost to San Antonio. Then we lost to a depleted Boston. Now we lay an egg against Portland again. Yeah we had some good wins but all of these games were a chance to gauge ourselves and we just didn't compete.

How are we in close games? Because it seems like we're not that good in games against good opponents who we should at least be playing tight.

I think this series will be physical slugfest.

Come on, we won 30 games and lost 6, so you basically say "ok we won 30 games but we lost 6!!" and then list those 6 like they are more important than the other 30. We won huge games during that stretch.

We lost to the Trailblazers twice, Rockets, Spurs and Celtics. And of course the loss to the Hawks.

We did have two great wins against GS but they had injuries... still great wins.

Almost all of the other wins came against teams that aren't that good. Yes, we did beat Minny and the Pels.

But our other biggest games we not only lost, but got pretty soundly beaten. The Celtics loss was tough because they were missing Horford, Kyrie, Hayward, and another key player I think. Portland crushed us twice. Spurs manhandled us without Kawhi. Rockets crushed us.

We are a very good team that just didn't play well against the best teams. It would have been nice to at least have competitive losses.

We had three wins against GSW, not two, and one they were at full strength. We beat the team in the league with the best home record... in their house, we took San Antonio to OT on the road when LMA has a career night, we beat the Wolves in their “biggest game in 14 years,” we blew out GSW by 40 when they were playing three all-stars, we’ve lost two road games in like 17 games.

The Portland game sucked but we’ve been beating top teams all year while having let downs against depleted teams or crappy teams.
