Top 5 Targets for Summer 2018

That's what I was referring to. I think we could make a draft day deal which lessens their luxury tax impact for this budget year and saves them a ton towards next year. Something like our nonguaranteeds for Gortat.

What do you guys think about a trade built around:

Bucks get Gortat
Wiz get Udoh and Jerekbo
We get Dellavadova and draft considerations.

Seems like the Wiz could use the massive savings, the Bucks need a big man, and we could harness the Aussie irritant. Plus, we should end up with #15 if we help both these teams out...

I've wondered the same thing but HH seems certain he's a significantly better player which is basically good enough for me tbh.

I haven’t watched him a ton so don’t read too much... when he shoots I think it’s going in every time... also he has some game off the dribble... when I have watched him I’ve been surprised at some of his moves.

I like him enough to do 1 or 2 years at MLE.... I’m really leery of doing anything that screws up our 2019 cap space unless it gets us a key building block. Wish Belly was 5 years younger.

I don't think we need to worry about adding a third stringer PG. Let's get someone who can make a real impact.

So they actually weren't a luxury tax team last year, but they project to be this year (around $5 over) and definitely next year. If they want to keep Oubre and Satoransky and the rest of the team intact, they will stay over the luxury for quite some time.

Porter is indispensable to them, they will keep him and trade Oubre this offseason. They will try and package Mahimi's toxic contract with Oubre.

A.) Swap Alec Burks for DeMarre Carroll (plus a future 2nd round pick if needed.)
B.) Draft two high upside guards, wings and/or stretch 4’s.
C.) Keep Thabo Sefolosha.
D.) Extend Favors and Exum to short (2/3 years), but fair contracts.
E.) Make a financial decision about Jerebko/Udoh once you have the contracts for Favors and Exum figured out.
F.) Use the MLE to add another offensive guy like Joe Harris, Mario Hezonjia, Nemanja Bjelica or Tyreke Evans.

Run it back and hope someone like Favors, Exum or O’Neale makes a significant jump, plus a bump in productivity from Mitchell, Rubio and Crowder from their 2nd year being with the franchise and having an offseason together.

I think the rule about the non-guaranteeds went into effect the minute the season ended. Their salaries don't count in a trade.

I believe Jonas is the only one who has a guarantee date in July, so this is not possible with Udoh, and I’d imagine Exum and Favors would likely hang around on the market past July 6, or whenever, anyway, but I suppose by then we’d have a better idea.

NM. I guess both Jonas and Ekpe guarantee on July 9.

I would prefer Oubre, I wanted us to draft him. He would be great here. He can defend 4 positions.

I would take on that bad contact to get Oubre.

I think the draft considerations are the whole point, but considering the lack of specifics, maybe not?

There are two ends to the court to consider. How good of a defender is BJelly?

Nemanja Bjelica doesn’t make any spectacular plays on defense, but he can at least hold his own

At first glance, Nemanja Bjelica comes off as a thick, unathletic and slow-footed defender. And also at the second and third glances. At 6’10” and 240 pounds, he may have the size to defend many of the combo wing/forwards that litter the NBA today including players like Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony and Joe Ingles, but he lacks the necessary lateral foot-speed to consistently stay in front of them. However, despite his limited athleticism, he’s a very willing, intelligent and capable defender.
