Hood ain't that good

Yes, I agree. Johnson did a lot for us the year before. Last year he had the wrist issue or whatever it was. Still, by the end of the year the jazz were playing so well that looking back johnson just no longer fit.

I think it's insane to say that Hood sucks. He did ok for the Jazz and would got better. He went to Cleveland and didn't show who he was because Cleveland didn't have a system under coach Lue. He's not even in the conversation of an average coach. Of course he didn't excel. Give him the right system and he'll add value. Coach Lue is where talent goes to die.

dude what evidence do you have supporting that Hood is good ? One game maybe 2 max ?

I think if Hood stayed with us and put up the same numbers he would get around 10-12.

Hood signs qualifying offer... rough deal for him. I don’t think he does well with the added pressure. I would have thought 4/40 prior to the trade would have been a lock.

Hood was looking at guys like Tim Hardaway Jr., Evan Fournier, Gary Harris, etc. and licking his chops thinking he'd get $18M/year.

Man did he cost himself a lot of money. I'm sure refusing to check into the one game did not do him any favors at all. Oh well, shows what happens when you want to leave Utah, though by the end I was glad he left.

It was the outward showing of his inward me-first attitude last year. I'm still surprised someone didn't give him an acceptable offer. At 8-10M a year I think he's a good value. I think the contract year stuff really messed with his mental approach.

For whatever it's worth...

Rodney Hood wants to earn big contract from Cavaliers and plant roots in Cleveland community

So Hood took the Cavs' one-year deal with the full intention of earning a much more lucrative contract from them next summer when he'll be an unrestricted free agent.

"I believe strongly in myself that after this year I'll be able to make Cleveland my home and we'll get a better deal next summer," Hood told cleveland.com Monday in a wide-ranging interview.
.
.
Hood understands the basketball opportunity he has in front of him -- there's money to be made by anyone who can help fill the 28 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists LeBron took with him to the Lakers.

Hood said he wasn't "comfortable" with what the Cavs were offering, and he correctly noted the NBA's salary cap is expected to rise from $101 million this season to $109 million next -- so there will be more teams with more money to offer him next year.

But to hear him tell it, he wants the Cavs to be the team cutting his checks.

"My twins were born here," he said. "I like the community, even though I haven't been out there a lot. I want to make this a home. It's just didn't happen this summer. That's how I look at it."
Best of luck. We'll see.

Cleveland? Have you been to Cleveland? Not exactly where I'd want to make my home, especially if you are an NBA player and have enough money to live anywhere.

In order to be an nba player and make the money, you have to play for an NBA team, in which Cleveland is one.

Could be true about Lue. Guess now that LeBron is gone he going have to show or he will be out the door and into broadcasting or scouting.
