Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

After a 5-minute eye test, I would say Barrett's game should translate to the NBA better than Williamson.

Williamson is a plus-athlete in any circumstance, but I don't think he'll flat-out dominate unless he improves his handle, passing and ability to change directions.
R.J. is a generational.. beat in a decade. Been saying it for two years and he’s only gotten better. Williamson will be great.. but not R.J.

Cam will be meh to decent.

All guys for Uk suck.

Nope. Zion is unlike any player in the history of the NBA. He's a combination of Jordan, Shaq and Lebron. Zion #1.

Actually I don't follow college ball and just watched a Barrett highlight film. Yeah, he's alright. LOL. Ridiculous that these two are on the same team. Still going with Zion.

Zion looks like a more explosive version of Larry Johnson from UNLV, but he's a bit quicker and can create a bit with the ball in his hands.

Grimes, Reddish and Langford didn't disappoint. Zion and Barrett are on another level. And those may be your top 5 picks.

Also really liked Keldon Johnson coming out of HS and he had a really nice game. Herro struggled shooting, but he surprised me with his overall ability and the shot will be there- kid has a nice stroke and he can get it.

Duke's complimentary players are no joke- they are going to be tough.
Herro will be good against smaller players, but he got exposed as much as one can in a single game against NBA talent.

You must be watching a player who isnt Zion because he is very high level at all those things, especially the latter. He has the nastiest side hop jump stop I have ever seen.

Some of those passes last night by Zion had me thinking of Lebron.

There are two ways to get Zion.

Tank - but that aint happening.

Or trade Gobert to Boston for the Sacramento and Memphis picks then package all 3 1sts to get Zion. Still probably not enough.

Barrett, to me, looks like a more polished, smarter version of Wiggins at the same stage- and dude is ultra aggressive. 26 shots and still was able to get 6 assists- means he had the ball in his hands and was making a ton of plays.

And I'll agree with cy regarding your comment about Zion. Every 18/19 yo can improve passing and ball handling, but he's as advanced in those areas as any non guard I've seen at this stage. Those really are two of his greatest strengths.

But yeah, right now I'd lean slightly Barrett, but not confident in that at all. And Reddish from a pure talent standpoint isn't far behind those two- biggest thing with Reddish is i question his drive, iq, work ethic, attitude- those things. Going to be a fun season.

Lol wut? Zion’s ball handling is meh at best. A few times he grabbed the rebound and began to dribble up court. He quickly and wisely decided to pass.

I mean, he's not going to have low dribble crazy Kyrie Irving dribble combos, but he is huge, can get low, and explode out of moves. These last two clips show dribbling, passing, and change of direction.

O Zion! dear Zion! land of the free,
Now my own mountain home, unto us please come;
All my fond hopes are centered in thee.

What are you talking about? He went coast to coast twice and finished with sweet assists for layups both times. He's not Kyrie Irving, but I've never seen a frosh big man with better handles.

You’re probably right. I was grading papers the entire game and didn’t see nearly as much as some of you who generally know more about ball than me so I should maybe shutup now.

Zion's weaknesses are defense and shooting. And with defense it may just be that he's not quite committed on that end as the ability is obviously there.
