C'mon now.

@carolinajazz - Neither offense could get going because of the other team's defense and the refs just destroying the flow of the game. At the end of the 3rd quarter and beginning of the 4th, we were able to force some important fouls and stretch our lead via the free throw line. Favors hit a big corner three, Exum did a good job canceling out Conley and we willed our way to a win. Ugly W but a W nonetheless. If I was looking for a theme of the game, it was the officiating and our grit exemplified by the bandage from down under.

Can someone smarter than me explain why Mitchell is a trash defender according to this? I watch him on that end a ton, and he's always on his guy, fighting through screens, quick feet, not fouling too much, etc. He also is pretty good at getting steals. Like, he has had some lapses, but I feel like he is playing his guy close almost every time. Sometimes they score over him, but that's true of anyone. So why do stats say he sucks?

same reason why thompson is so low......even tho thompson is an elite defender. It's just b/c hes covering for rubio a lot i bet, same way curry is somehow higher than thompson

Well I would I take these graphs seriously at all if they can be affected unfairly so easily?
 
nothing beats the eye test, stats can be misleading and even wrong, like Allen didn't even play so whoever entered in the data made a mistake. Also take into account who is on the floor, DM45 is guarding Conley while our bench guys are going against scrubs

theres a quote by someone smart, "numbers don't lie but statistics do"
 
And these graphs are unfair to Rubio, but I like them overall. They don't take assists into account obviously

I think they look pretty accurate to how our guys have played.

Rudy has been our best player and the graph reflects that. Rubio has been the worst and the graph reflects that. Ingles and favors have been quite good as has crowder. All reflected accurately.

Everyone else has been pretty meh.

The graph mostly goes with what i see on the court. No graph, chart, or stat is perfect though.
 
the chart is pretty accurate tbh, but not perfect. Like thompson has to guard the opposing teams best player.
