Jazz front runner for Conley

Was expecting to hear something by now on Conley...

The longer time passes, the more I’d just like to move the pick for a younger player on a cheaper deal and then roll the dice in FA.

Just like I freakin said... their best offer was the one DL gave them at the deadline. Now they are getting offered less. If they keep waiting the offers will only get worse. There aren't very many teams shopping for a PG at that age with that salary. Utah is in a unique roster/team salary situation where it works. Memphis should stop stalling tbh.

K well he’s never posted a positive VORP or box +/- (both offense and defense) for a season, and his win shares are one of the lowest on the team, even minutes-adjusted.

As or more importantly, he doesn’t look like a good basketball player either. Because he isn’t.

Furthermore, you’re going to make this big case about Favors working contingent on spacing then suggest Exum is a piece to our puzzle? That doesn’t jive at all.

I dont think Exum can play with Favors and Gobert on the court at the same time. offensively it is a bad fit unless Exum starts hitting his 3s consistently. That doesnt mean they cant be on the same team. Exum and Gobert on the court together is usually pretty good since they are both really good defenders and Exum has been better at feeding Gobert the lob than anyone on the team.

Exum has been mostly flashes of potential on offense. He started to show consistently when given a chance this year before going down. But he has always been really good on defense which doesnt show in the stats well but is still 1/2 the game.

He is also still very very young especially if you consider his playing time in his career at any decent level.

My only concern with him is staying healthy. I think he will though. I think he will be a solid role player in the NBA or a pretty good player if he finds his shot, which is a maybe for me.

But I get the other opinion of him. I also like that we use stats when it helps the argument but not when it doesnt.

Um it's the opinion shared by the majority on here. Still drinking the koolaid on glassbones I see ...
Still an opinion. I think its about 50/50. I think most people have given up on him due to injuries not because he is a bad player. Non of his injuries concern me long term. I think he has had bad luck and his body awareness is still low. He looks awkward just like Gobert did at that age. They have a lot in common.

He led the entire team in plus/minus and averaged a career high in assists as well, it could be argued last year was the best season of his career.

It could be. But that would be wrong for anyone who watched him this year. His TO% is up from last year. His PER is down from last year. His WS was down from last year. His BPM total was down from last year both offensively and defensively. His VORP is down from last year. His 3 point % is down from last year. His TS% is down from last year. His Offensive rating is down from last year. His defensive rating is up (worse) than last year. His overall FG% is down from last year.

He is worse than he was the year before. I hope he bounces back and its not a trend. I could see it going either way and there are good reasons for both.
