What's your expert take on how it should be handled?
We used to have a system where people claiming asylum were released with a subsequent court date, and over 96% of them showed up for their court date. That seemed to work pretty well.

@One Brow
Lie? Yeah, OK, guy.
How does it feel to call someone a liar only to be proven wrong?
I look forward to your excuses.
Lol. You just used the definition that literally says;"used especially in reference to camps created by the Nazis in World War II for the internment and persecution of Jews and other prisoners"
It's like you can't make this **** up.

Catch and release has worked perfectly fine as a border control policy for over two hundreds years in fact.We used to have a system where people claiming asylum were released with a subsequent court date, and over 96% of them showed up for their court date. That seemed to work pretty well.
So you're saying I'm a liar still when I just gave you proof for what you called me a liar for?
Apparently sending them back is not a legal option in an international sense, so cross that one off your list. The illegal crossings are approaching 100K a month and increasing, so while building adequate facilities (which you would term concentration camps) is an option, it would remain a very challenging proposition. For whatever reason, people are choosing to continue to cross this border into a situation that's facing greater and greater strain. Many people, including me, find it logical that infrastructure enabling law enforcement to create an orderly process ought to be put in place immediately.God don’t be intentionally dense. You’re smarter than this.
Point to where I ever said, or even, hinted at this being an A or B choice. Immediately send them back or provide adequate facilities. There’s two additional options.
Also, these are concentration camps. By definition. Not death camps but certainly concentration camps. And just like the ones in ww2 this will go down as a disgusting stain on our nation.
By your logic let’s just widen the premise.
You steal and we will break every bone in your hands. Don’t like that don’t steal. Easy a or b choice.
I would hope that those crossing legally and claiming asylum were being handled differently and being prioritized over those who are crossing illegally. I would hope that those who have legitimate claims are being allowed in after reasonable processing. I would hope that those with illegitimate claims or with criminal histories were being turned away. I wish we had enough infrastructure in place in order to make the system as orderly as possible. I think that many progressive forces are motivated to make the system disorderly and overwhelming. It's amazing to me how far left that the left keeps moving. Obama and Clinton would be on the fringe right of the current Democratic Party..How about the people legally crossing the border and claiming asylum?
Can you make an educated guess? My bet would be less than a majority understand the history of concentration camps before the Nazis.I couldn't say.
You lied by referring to it as the original tweet, and you lied by claiming it supports the notion of "concentration camp must mean Nazis". Both untrue.
You conveniently cut your excerpt from that article short. The next bit reads-
Can you make an educated guess? My bet would be less than a majority understand the history of concentration camps before the Nazis.
Why would I need to make it up, when you are so obviously out of your depth and wrong here?
LOL
This thread took one hilarious and easily predictable turn.
It’s the same story over and over for some posters. Pretty funny stuff.
As I recall this topic originated with your post about AOC tweeting dumb things, in support of that assertion you pointed to her use of the term "concentration camps" we've gone through great lengths proving that was not a dumb tweet, because "concentration camps" don't only imply the death camps and forced labor camps used by Nazi Germany, using a source you yourself provided but apparently didn't even read. You're right. It's the same story. The libs on her project, name call, make things up, argue points that aren't being argued.
It's exhausting tbh.
Did I miss anything?

But yeah, we're the ones projecting and name calling here.
Eh fair enough. I think she's fine on Twitter, she uses it to bring awareness to issues that I care about, even if that ruffles feathers along the way.Ok, her tweets are so level headed and she's clearly winning over the people. She should keep on tweeting because she says nothing dumb, not can't because she on your team Jacob.
Btw, my OG post wasn't about her concentration camp tweet to begin with. I think it was Jazzgal that brought it up to which I responded Yeah, boy. Or whatever the hell the song was she tweeted.
I certainly wasted more time and energy on the concentration camp tweet than I needed to. I do think she tends to tweet things on a regular basis that rubs the feathers or the right, the left, and everyone in between.
You may love her on Twitter or not. I don't care. I think her and Trump should stop tweeting just like everyone else should (unless it's sports updates, of course.)

I'm sure people who have no problem with the camps probably feel differently.Flip the script and you’d be of the opposite opinion. But, whatever.
