DANTE TRADED TO CAVS

Clarkson hasn’t exactly played for many good teams with any kind of structure with lakers and LBJ-less cavs, and it’s not exactly easy to play with LBJ

Clarkson isn’t perfect, has his flaws, he’s inconsistent, at times he’ll throw up 20+ points and light it up, but the next night he’ll shoot 25-30% with 8 points on 15 shots, but at the end of the day he’s going to give us more in a little over half a season than what we got from Exum in 5 years, so I’m good, IMO clarkson is about the best value we could expect from an Exum trade.

A little stunned by the sudden release of Green, only because I view power forward as our biggest area of need. But this deal was a total positive surprise to me. I mean this deal should make everybody smile, especially Exum supporters cause he wasn't ever going anywhere here. So our dilemma was how do you trade someone that never plays and has a brutal history of injury? The way I see it, getting Clarkson without sending a first, was a coup of the highest order and it only happens in a perfect storm. Jim Beilein is going through a mutiny of sorts over there cause he's treating these pampered pros like college kids with his emphasis on basics. He definitely wants to shake things up (the roster) so he can change the culture, and everybody knows that Exum doesn't make waves.

This reminds me a bit of the Korver trade last year. Korver wasnt brought in for his ability to play defense.

We got another scorer to compliment the team and when Korver scored a 3 point shot it was almost contagious. Everyone else followed. I think Clarkson can bring energy and can light it up from time to time just when we need a boost. Probably good to help us win a handful of games.

Dante didnt pan out. RIP in Cleveland's finest hospital my friend.

I also think it is interesting that we are giving Niang and Brantley the upgrades in exchange for Green. Green played with so little passion though. When he wanted to play we tore it up but that was once every 6 - 10 games. Brantley will bring toughness we desperately need if he sees the court. Niang guarding the opponent's 4 instead of their 3 is a big deal.

I can't wait for Niang to guard AD LOL. He's going to go off for 80 on us.
