Is Gilchrist nickname "Gilly The Kid" by chance? If not, it should be.
I voted for Anthony Davis dunk because it was completely over Gilchrist.
Changing topics a bit...who would you guys pick between Alec Burks and Austin Rivers? I'm curious.
Wow. Great question. Most here would say Burks, hands down. I don't think it's that easy though. Austin needs to show that he can be a TEAM player this year. Needs to prove he's not deathly allergic to passing. The casual fan believes Austin is a lights out shooter, but it's a myth, he's a volume (albeit inefficient) scorer with a sub 35% perimiter shooter against high school defenders.
Having said that, to the casual basketball fan he's a lot of fun to watch play the game and IF he greatly improves on those above-mentioned areas he'll be a ticket seller and instant offense.
Cue Numberica to correct me and say the kid is simply garbage .. which would be true if he remains as-is.
Yeah, Rivers really needs to take advantage of the opportunity of playing for Coach K, and prove to everyone he's a multidimensional player. If he could pass and defend as well as he can score, then he could be a very special player.
But I've also been wondering if Burks has even more potential than we originally thought. I mean, if one day he shoots 36% from the 3, and adds ~15lbs of muscle, what would he be lacking?
ok let me know, GS pick is 7 protected is that means if GS is 7th worst team (2012 season) we won't get their pick?
and what if there will be no season at all?
and what about minnesota pick
please make it clear for me.

Question: Is it possible to be a volume scorer when you're shooting 51%? Yeah, he shot the ball a lot. He made his shots a lot. His team wasn't exactly that good, he's a playmaker, give him the ball and he can make something happen. He's not deathly allergic to passing, in fact, he's a pretty damn good passer. Also, any casual fan that thinks he's a lights out shooter is at least halfway correct. He's not a good 3-point shooter....yet. He shot 32% from 3. He shot 66% from 2. 66% is pretty lights out IMO. If there's any coach that can turn him into a team player, it's Coach K. He's in the right place, I wouldn't worry too much.
I've been the one more supporting Rivers on this board when others call him garbage, just for the record. Having said that, what have you seen of Rivers that would indicate he's a pretty good passer? I'm sure he can be .. but I've never seen him actually do it. What I have seen is him driving recklessly into the lane, drawing multiple defenders and putting up a circus shot rather than passing to an open man.
I'll engage a little bit on this topic, but I have no real passion for it one way or the other .. just calling it as I've seen it.
Judging anyone by solely what they do at the HS level is dumb.
