Well a win is a win but Memphis did not make it easy on the Jazz. Jazz blew a 20 pt lead. Every time I see Memphis play the Jazz I wonder why they do not win more. They always seem to give us a hard time. Again we had two guys shoot poorly tonight. JC and Conley stunk it up shooting tonight. DM was the man down the stretch and Rudy played great but was owned on the boards tonight. He always seems to struggle rebounding against V. It looked like it was going to be a great night for the Jazz with Nets, Portland, PHX and Denver were either losing most of the night or in a close game but they managed to pull out victories so it was important that Utah won this game even if it was a nail=biter.
 
Lakers and Cavs are just awful, both of them. There is better basketball being played somewhere with a nerf hoop. . .
 
How can the refs look themselves in the mirror when they overturned the out of bounds call when the replay clearly showed Rudy was fouled bigly and hard enough that fines might be warranted on the Memphis players? I know you can't call a foul on replay but the refs job is to get the call right and they failed miserably. Better play better tomorrow fellas or it's an L.

review system is flawed. when refs go up for a review, they can only review the one specific thing(out of bound, foul, etc) that they intended to review. so if it's an out-of-bound review, they can't really review the play for a potential foul because they aren't allowed to, which is so stupid.
 
Ja had an amazing game. The Grizzlies hit a barrage of shots late in the 4th, matching the Jazz's 3pt makes. They still lost.

If the Jazz shoot better, this game never gets close.

Jom mentioned above, but what you should notice is that the official went out of his way to say that the play was overturned by the replay center. Will be fun to see the last 2 minute report where they say it was a correct no call. Or perhaps don’t even mention the contact.
 
That guy Morant can ball. Also, what do the jazz do in the playoffs when you have a talented fast team on the break like that? In some ways it takes Rudy out of the game.

Can't they either say the review is inconclusive Jazz ball the call stands or the foul caused the out of bounds, Jazz ball. The call was Dick Bavetta horrible. The refs and league are rule booking instead of getting the call right.

Perhaps the replay center ref needs to be fired. Instead of having a correct outcome they are hiding behind procedures.

I feel bad for the refs there... they can only review the out of bounds ruling... so dumb. It is partly their fault because many times they don’t want to call the foul so they just call it out off the other team.

I love when ref defenders come out and say “they get 98.35% of the calls right”. Yeah no ****... if I was the judge for my own trials I’d be a hell of an attorney.

When Tim Donaghey said the NBA was not an athletic contest but a sham exhibition like pro wrestling he nailed it. This reminded me of the Rams-Saints no pass interference game a couple of years ago. There the Saints got hosed and the outcome was affected. Here the Jazz still won, but incompetence is still incompetence.
