Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I think teams are holding their best offers so that they're not used to drive up the market. At this point, both sides know what the other wants in trade discussions. It's just a question of whether both sides have the will to push the deal through.
I also think it's tough for us to really ask for a huge haul because teams know that Ayton, Vucevic, and Turner are also available.

Jazz receive: Tobias Harris, #23 | 76ers receive: Bogdanovic, Gay, Herangomez
Jazz receive: Richaun Holmes | Kings receive: Royce O'Neale
Jazz receive: OG Anunoby, Gary Trent Jr | Raptors receive: Rudy Gobert
Jazz receive: Deni Avdija, KCP | Wizards receive: Mike Conley

Mitchell - GTJ - Anunoby - Harris - Holmes

Clarkson, KCP, Avdija, Terry (#23 pick), Udoka, NAW off the bench

Why doesn’t this same principle apply to Mitchell? New coach / system would just as likely decrease his value. Even having to share the ball more with a shooting 5 could lower his scoring average by at least a few points.
Because Quin's entire defensive philosophy was built around Rudy Gobert and protecting the rim. It's unclear whether the next coach will have the same approach. While regardless of who the coach is, Don is going to be the guy with the ball in his hands.

Centers aren't embraced by all teams evenly. Especially centers with Rudy's profile. Especially at Rudy's salary.

Don is a 25 year old guard who can fit in any offense and can average 5+ assists per game. I'm not worried about Don's value.

Likewise… the entire offensive philosophy was built around Don. He was 5th in usage rate last year. Going to be hard to maintain that rate… either by coaching philosophy, or injury.

This is just false. Just because Don has the ball in his hands doesn't mean the system was built around him. On offense under Quin, we did everything to maximize the only things Rudy can do - screen and finish at the rim. Even Rudy's guy off the bench was utilized the exact same way.

Why do you think so many of us are begging for more 5 out options?

Donovan's value might drop not because he won't be able to score(he will). It could drop if you trade Gobert for win now pieces and this team crumbles and can't make the playoffs.

The other avenue through which his value drops is if he can reliably push away potential trade suitors and demands a specific trade destination. He cannot do it now IMO with 3 years left on his contract(and that's why he's not asking out now), but his word will have much more impact next year.

At his age and production level, Don's value won't be diminished in a year if the team struggles after trading Rudy and replacing the coaching.

The only way Don loses value - he gets injured.

I think it's inevitable that he ends up with the Knicks or Heat.
