Eventually, but I also have faith we could build something here where he is happy for a long while.I think it's inevitable that he ends up with the Knicks or Heat.
We'll see, our lack of draft picks and young talent have made it tough to project what the team will be over the next few seasons. And we really don't have a ton of assets to trade so it's difficult to see how we can improve significantly.Eventually, but I also have faith we could build something here where he is happy for a long while.
My theory for a while is that Don hasn't been happy here and not because it isn't NY or Miami. Outside of LeBron James led teams, contenders need incredible chemistry, continuity, brotherhood, etc. Our guys have just been going to work.
The Jazz should not allow this IMO. You cannot just accept to cut off 90% of available bidders because Mitchell wants something. Once you know he's out(and I think we already know he's out), you have no allegiance or responsibility to him. Open it up to everyone now and get the best offer. And if it happens to be from the Knicks or Miami, so be it... I just don't see how they(especially Miami) can compete with the likes of NOP or OKC when talking about available assets. Hell when you know how horrible of a ******** the Kings have been, I'd even prefer their potential packages than anything Miami can offer.I think it's inevitable that he ends up with the Knicks or Heat.
Agreed, about the injuries possibility - that's another way his value drops. At his age and production level, Don's value won't be diminished in a year if the team struggles after trading Rudy and replacing the coaching.
The only way Don loses value - he gets injured.

If you replace Gobert (low usage rate player) with one or more other people who shoot from outside or create their own shot then those touches have to come from somewhere.Who else is the offense going to run through?
The entire league runs the pick and roll, and primarily through the center position given that is the defender least likely able to keep up with the opposing team’s ball handler. Rudy also happens to be one of the best screeners in the league (or he gets away with more fouls doing it if you are a fan of an opposing team). This is just false. Just because Don has the ball in his hands doesn't mean the system was built around him. On offense under Quin, we did everything to maximize the only things Rudy can do - screen and finish at the rim. Even Rudy's guy off the bench was utilized the exact same way.
Why do you think so many of us are begging for more 5 out options?

The one move I think we have to make is trading Conley so that Don can play PG.
Juancho is better than Crowder and Clarkson better than Shamet. How about a deal with Phoenix to get them a real 3rd guard and bring us back some more D from the forward spots?
Clarkson/Juancho or Gay for Crowder/Shamet
Maybe we can talk them into adding some sort of pick value for taking the extra Shamet salary we'd be taking?
I want to keep JuanchoJuancho is better than Crowder and Clarkson better than Shamet.
