This. I trust him fully to make a good decision even if its one that I or "we" dont particularly like.Posturing or no posturing, it feels good having a GM I fully trust to do the right thing.
I remember camping with some friends and listening to a playoff game on the radio in what I think was Spida second season and telling him that I literally wouldn't trade donovan for anyone in the nba. It's sad because when he was a rookie full of excitement and energy Jazz Nation LOVED Don, and thought he was our version of Michael Jordan.
I think it's been pretty clear that Don doesn't have as much say as yall we saying.
We didn't hire his buddy
We released his buddy
We traded his buddy
Rudy getting traded was good business and the right call whether Don liked it or not.

I dont think we are. I dont think we make the play in. Get Ayton and I think we get in without the play in game. Are we a playoff team with this roster right now? I say probably a play in team.
Who would want conley though?

Thanks SteveIt's not policing. It's asking. I'm asking you to please just take it to another thread. I'm far from the only person here who's sick of threads getting derailed by the same argument by the same person.
I get that. What I dont get is why anyone (brooklyn in this case) would want Conley.Maybe we include him instead of Bogey in a deal for Ayton where Phoenix sends him to Brooklyn.

Sure for us it makes tremendous sense to trade conley and keep bogey. But not for the other team. Who knows, maybe Danny Ainge is just that good but I dont think so. Conley is too old too expensive too small and too injury prone.
Bogey is younger, not undersized, cheaper, and almost never misses games. Gotta think either bogey is the one we would trade for ayton or we trade conley but add a ton of picks (which I dont think ainge will do cause that would be dumb imo)
Fair. Still old, injury prone, expensive, and tiny.Conley has value. Did anyone think Royce was worth a 1st? Conley has become underrated by Jazz fans value wise. He had a bad playoff series and that has dampened our thoughts on him. He’s basically a 15/5 guy who can play 28 minutes a night and shoot 40% from 3. There is much worse teams can do than that.
But Royce wasn't paid half as much as Conley. Any team'd love to have a guy like Conley off the bench but they ain't paying 20mil for a backup PG. Good player but has negative value due to his current contract.Conley has value. Did anyone think Royce was worth a 1st? Conley has become underrated by Jazz fans value wise. Tyus Jones just got two years and $15 a year. Conley has value to some teams out there, but the issue is that we won't get much value back. That's not the Ainge way.Who would want conley though?
Being that Brooklyn's drafts are owned by the Rockets, they have no incentive to be bad. They'll just try to be good for the foreseeable future.Fair. Still old, injury prone, expensive, and tiny.
Also, brooklyn would be in rebuild mode. They dont want conley for a rebuild unless they are getting a bunch of picks from us as well I would think.

I'm afraid this is ultimately the problem. Ainge never wants to lose or break even on a trade. If we keep Don then Conley needs to go. Let Don sink or swim as primary point guard and move forward from there. Plus, we need more size. We're just so guard heavy right now.Tyus Jones just got two years and $15 a year.
