Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

Beverly is a unique asset that teams on the cusp crave. Someone is going to overpay by the trade deadline and we going to be carrying DA on our shoulders through the streets of Provo.
I’d be totally okay with keeping him until the deadline, but my gut feeling is that some team out there will put a surprise offer on the table for him before training camp gets started.

I think Barrett will play the 3, and Thibs will stagger Brunson and Don a lot so that Barrett gets minutes at SG too.

I would imagine that the future is Don and Barrett with the hope that Brunson fits alongside that. If he doesn't, he can be moved later for something that fits better.
If Brunson doesn't work in NY, that might be a very hard contract to move.

I wouldn't be shocked if this deal isn't a 3 team deal with the Lakers.

NY gets Don
Lakers get Beverley, Fournier, Randle, whatever
Jazz get Westbrook, tons of NY picks and at least one pick from the Lakers

I think brunson should be 6th man. Thats what I would do anyway. Start don at the point and barrett at the 2 or 3. Bring brunson off the bench. Brunson and Spida together is too short.

It's big, but it's a declining deal. And I don't think he would get moved because he doesn't have value. I could see him getting moved to acquire value elsewhere around Don and Barrett.

That was the problem with Conley, but when you have so much invested in them both. . . you try to make it work.

No thanks.

Hold the Knicks feet to the fire and then try to make a deal with LA separately.

Of everything else suggested, I still feel like Conley, Bogey or Clarkson and Gay is better value for a Westbrook trade and buyout than any other offer I’ve seen.

Ugg. Westbrook would hate it here, he's always hated coming here and didn't some idiot say some stupid stuff to him during a game a few years ago. It would be stupid if the Jazz traded for Westbrook knowing he wants no part of being here. He is super athletic, and talented. He does some amazing stuff, but he doesn't really make teams better. He would make our team good enough to not get the tank pick we want next year... it would slow down our 5 year plan. He's also a ticking time bomb for drama. I wish it wasn't the case because if we could get along it would be fun to have him here. That only helps the Lakers. Would we do that and waive Westbrook?

I could see Brunson at 6th man making sense.

But I also don't buy into this notion that Brunson and Don can't play together due to their size.

Curry and Poole - neither good defenders, played 1700 minutes together during the regular season, and 600+ minutes together during the postseason. Poole is less than 6'3" with shoes with only a 6'3" wingspan. Brunson is the same height in shoes with a bigger wingspan.

I asked an AI art generator to create a picture of Leon Rose being robbed.

I would imagine we would waive Westbrook.

And I would imagine that Ainge would much rather have then waive Westbrook than have to pay Fournier anything in 2023-24.

Ya fwiw I dont think they would bring brunson off the bench due to bad optics. They would likely roll out a midget lineup and lose more for it. If they just wanted to win and didn't care about optics then I think brunson off the bench is the way to go.

Or whatever they want, players-wise. Again, just let them take whatever players they want. I am hoping we get something from the Knicks we can throw in since I think a cheap, young, productive player might be the key to actually heisting what's left of the Lakers' draft capital. It's actually why I might feel comfortable pivoting off a 4th unprotected pick and towards getting more rookie-scale Knicks players.

now do spida and curry height. Also, curry is da goat and they also had Klay, dray, and wiggins. I dont think the warriors would win a ton with a crappier version of curry and poole playing together with a much crappier supporting cast.
