What's new

2022 Free Agency Thread

I am interested to see what he can do. I really hope if he has promise that we can get a good team with him so we don't waste his talents on ****** teams for too long. Everything I have seen he is like a more athletic Joe Ingles kind of guy, maybe with better defensive instincts, but of course that is all guess work right now. But if he is our new Jingles then that is an important piece added to the puzzle.

Man I miss Joe Ingles so much. Really wish he were still with the squad, but I also hope he finds a place to win a ring. Hell maybe in 3 years when we have 2 #1 picks on the squad and some tough as nails big wings filling in the ranks we can bring Joe back and get him his ring here. That would be ****ing awesome!

I can't stand Draymond, but the extension he wants is 5 years $167 million. That's an average of $33.4 million a year.

Considering Damian Lillard is going to make $60 million a year for two years, it might not be as bad as some think. Draymond is a critical part of the GS dynasty.

This season, there are 26 players making more than $33.4 million. Just imagine how many there will be in two or three years...
I'd just let him walk and replace him with Kuminga tbh.

Yeah but after watching the finals this year I would say they won despite him, not because of him. He has really fallen off, is afraid to take an outside shot, turns the ball over way too much, inconsistent on D any more, not like he was in years past. He is just not worth that much money.

Something of interest to Jazz fans: "Free agent forward Bruno Caboclo has reached an agreement on a training camp deal with the Celtics and will get the opportunity to compete for a roster spot this fall, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic."

Why is that of interest to Jazz fans. I have only seen the guy mentioned here once and no where else at all.

Not only that, he played well enough that some observers were saying the Jazz should give him a shot for the real team.

But Celtics are a better situation for him if the Jazz are embracing the tank.
Good for Bruno. He played well in summer league. Hopefully he catches on somewhere.

It’s really not that bad of a take. Durant has 4 years left on his deal. Tatum is a turnover machine and very inefficient in the playoffs.
Guess it would surprise you that Durant averaged more TOVs the last few years and career wise than Tatum while being far less efficient last year. ;)

When it’s one man vs the best defensive team in the league I’m not sure what you really expect. He’s not LeBron.

Tatum > Brown + Smart

There’s no way I’d trade Jayson Tatum before I’d trade those two. . . also, I’m not sure I’d want to sacrifice Brown for Durant unless Jaylen becomes vocal about a trade - at some point, with his age and on his contract, he’s going to fall off a cliff and completely wreck your ability to compete. The Celtics are young enough that they should have a nice windows right now unless they do something stupid.
