2023 Trade Rumors and Gossip Involving the Jazz

They’re not going to land a good, ready wing with Tyus Jones. If they draft one they won’t be ready. I think it’s more likely that they throw this season than that they think that plan will work.

Their whole concept is built around a PG-centric offense.
They are absolutely in danger of missing the playoffs. What after like 4 idiot incidents last year Ja is going to become smart and a changed man... nah. Brooks likely not back, Clarke likely out for the year, Ja missing 25 games, trading their super steady backup for a vanilla 3 and D wing... Jackson will also inevitably miss 10-20 games. Unless one of their young guys suddenly jump up they are in the play in... whether they earn it from there is another story... but I'd bet large sums of money they aren't top 6 unless they make a big acquisition.

They need someone to run their offense.

“We don’t need someone to run the offense, we have Royce O’Neale.”

Sure thing.
Desmond Bane can step up and do that. It doesnt have to be optimal. You want to optimize for the PO, not for 1/4th the regular season.

Hell maybe they draft your boy Podz.

They still have two top 40 guys in Bane and JJJ and plenty of young guys ready to step up. They are in no danger of missing the PO.

Might be true. Haven't seen it yet. What is actually true rather than just a might is that he is a good young hard working player with a great attitude on a good contract. I dont think that should be traded for ***** and giggles. I think he is still getting better. Hasn't hit his prime yet. A hard worker with his personality type is a dude I would be afraid to trade and then have major regrets when he hits his prime and reaches all his potential.
I agree with this completely, but the fact is he has no trade value having not played much at all, and that means it is the worst time to move him. I take the report he is available as only Ainge sniffing around to see who is looking for position movement in the draft. I mean there probably isn't a gm or front office draft guru that hasn't contacted every single org in the range where their top targets are, just to get a feel for their asking price. I love how we get reports for example that the Jazz have called Detroit and Indiana to trade up for Black, when the truth is we have called everyone short of SA in the attempt to get a gauge on things. Whomever is throwing in the reason is for Black, is because Danny would do just that to see what the interest level was in Black to not only influence other teams into taking him before 9 and pushing his guy down, but to leverage getting his real targets. My take is teams have called about Sexton to see if they can steal him nothing more.

Jazz will be better than grizzlies next season. book it

Grizzlies are going to be a better defensive team without Ja and they have done just fine when he's out offensively.

Bane might take a big step forward with the opportunity to be even more ball-in-hand.

Likely don't have Ja for 30 games... 25 plus a few for minor injury. If they trade Tyus he has been an absolute rock... Clarke and Brooks leave a lot of quality minutes to fill. Losing Tyus and Ja for 25 games creates a hole... that if left unfilled could have them fighting uphill all season. If they are in the play in they are in danger... as it sits I think they very much could be a play in team. JJJ also is very injury prone... I just think they are at risk here of having a lost season. Need to see what they do in trade or with their space.

I need to see what the offseason looks like for both teams first.. but I love the confidence.
I feel like Lauri is a win now player, kessler surprisingly is a win now player, Sexton is a win now player, KO is a win now player, If we keep clarkson he is another win now player, Ochai was a 4 year college player and has an amazing body and i think due to that he is ready to contribute to winning now. I think this team is closer than most people think. Especially if lauri plays like he did last year. He played at a near league mvp level for much of the season.

Why have they done just fine without him... is it because of the super awesome backup that they are trading potentially?

Why have they done well on defense... is it because of a really good perimeter defender they aren't bringing back?

It ain't just Ja... even though Ja is a problem.

Because they are a great franchise who have a great coach and great players with great player development. I will be shocked if they are in legitimate trouble because of this Ja thing and it's probably a blessing in disguise.

Its a Brooks/Jones/Clarke thing... on top of the Ja thing.

All replaceable players.

Bane/JJJ/Adams will hold the fort down and they have the continuity from the other key role players. I just think that trio is too strong defensively for me to entertain them falling that far from Ja missing 1/4thish the season. They also have MLE money I believe?

HH literally just posted that it aint just ja lol. It was right in the post you quoted.

The Grizzlies are going to sign a player or two and they are going to draft someone.

At least some of LaRavia/Roddy/Aldama will take a step or two forward. Hell Kenny Lofton might be a NBA player this year.

Grizzlies are a top notch franchise in my book and these "setbacks" are something they can easily deal with, if not improve from.
