2023 Trade Rumors and Gossip Involving the Jazz

Pat Riley is another who is apparently a Sexton fan. The Heat are all into their culture. Maybe it's a possibility if they can't land Lillard and to be honest I don't think they have nearly enough assets for Dame. Regardless I'm guessing they would love to upgrade from the scoring guards they were throwing out there in the playoffs.

Unfortunately older veteran teams like Milwuakee and Miami don't have much in their asset cupboard that would entice Ainge. Sexton+Olynyk would work financially for Lowry but that's kind of a rough return. Ainge would look bad after basically dealing Bog (KO) + Sexton for Lowry's 37 yo ***.

Regardless it certainly seems Ainge is in talent acquisition mode and the pieces just aren't going to fit again this coming season.

Why on earth would Houston or anyone do that? Lol
Because he's a good player and that would pay more than he is worth for 2 years but when you have excess cap space what does it matter... the contract then comes off the books when FVV likely is declining as a player.

The Houston fit is wonky.

Having KO also means you basically never play Lauri/Collins/Hendricks lineup which is the most interesting lineup I think we could play.

Andy came up with a way to get everyone plenty of minutes, including Henricks. I don't think there's any way Hardy actually plays Hendricks this many minutes as a rookie though.

Hmmm... I have thoughts, but before we get ahead of ourselves I want to see how the rest of free agency works out and how Hendricks looks vs actual NBA competition.

There's a decent chance Hendricks just isn't ready to be part of a rotation for more than spot minutes and that would be perfectly understandable as a guy coming off his Freshman year in a lower quality conference.

I'll go ahead and say right now you can flip KO and Hendricks minutes there... If taylor got 20 minutes a night with this group healthy I think that means he's pretty damn good. That feels like the right amount either way... unless he comes in like Kessler.

Dude's expiring. Would a stretch help w/ freeing cap for a signing? If not, then I don't see the point.
That is the whole point. They are in tax hell and don't want to give up assets to dump salary. Would save them like 19M in cap this year. They do that and dump Oladipo on us for a couple seconds and they might have a little bit of flexibility to keep Vincent (likely not Strus) and stay under the tax.

It took Agbaji, a four year college player from a power 5 conference, half a year to get comfortable in the NBA. I hope Hendricks is ready for regular rotation minutes right away, but it wouldn't be surprised if he needs a little time to get acclimated to NBA speed, athleticism, and an NBA play book.

Makes sense.

Brother Kelly Olynyk will not play all 82 games , he probably won't even play 60
Over his career he plays an average of 68 games... only had one year in the 40s. No jumping means less injuries. I'd expect him to play 65+

He's going to be an age fast guy. We saw it starting last year. I say he plays 58 games next year and will likely be traded at the deadline.
He sprained his ankle last year... lol. If he is playing less minutes cuz bench players generally do play less minutes... then he's less likely to get hurt. I would set the over under at 65 and take the over.
