Dame Time

I am guessing there was a wink and a nod agreement when he signed his extension that they’d do right and send him where he wanted if the time came. I think they are teasing out the best Miami offer possible… but Dames team is going to be consistent with their message to make sure no team gets a wild notion.
I just don't see the offer from Miami getting better unless something unforseen happens that makes Tyler Herro much more desirable to someone

This is really starting to irk me. Lillard has had multiple chances to enter free agency and go somewhere else. That's the whole point of free agency. On top of that, he signed an extension just one year ago. I have no problem with a player leaving a team in FA, but this whole, "I'm going to sign for as much money as legally possible, only to ask out in less than a year fad," is going to have some major unintended consequences for the players in future CBA negotiations.

I think the narrative flipping on Dame is hilarious… like he didn’t give them 10 years and multiple chances this very offseason to make it better… like everyone of us wouldn’t sign the megamax and request out when we saw our window closing. Portland has been unwilling to make hardly any win now moves… loyalty has to be a two way street… we applaud Portland for doing what’s best for the franchise but mock Dame for taking control.

Brother shut up lmfao

They gave him his money. That's their end of the loyalty.

He's perfectly within his rights to try and strongarm it to where he wants to go, but the narrative on him is going to flip and deservedly so.

Nobody is upset about his trade request. If anything people are like about damn time he did.

If he forces his way to Miami after they just made the Finals then the narrative will flip on Dame. How could it not? You talk about other guys running from the grind then you force your way to a team who just made the Finals?

Lol you shut up. They tried to play both sides here and wouldn’t push the chips in… so Dane should bail. He should have done it earlier but they were over the moon to give him that money. Loyalty extends beyond a paycheck you doofus.

Lmao you're being a clown then. If loyalty extended beyond the paycheck then Lillard should have a list longer than a single team.

He gave them 10 years and was willing to stay if they gave him help with some of their assets… they did nothing. He didn’t run from the grind… the grind wore him out and he wants a chance to compete… Portland hasn’t given him that and really haven’t tried or invested anything significant.
