FIBA Stuff

Just wake up after a touch night.... too much drink to forget the french performance...... France is struggling in offense as i was worried. When your best player is Fournier, you can be worry. He is good player but can't score 30 every night. Canada is really great, SGA is a star, Tha Vilain is playing well. KO was really good , as was NAW.

Rudy got a terrible night, no offense, average in defense ( let Canada get a lot of offensive rebound), akward with the ball in hands..... hope it was just a bad night as the rest of the team. But they definitly not a contender for this competition.

Rudy itw after the game. ''Canada was much better, we got our *** k......, on a personal level, i was non existent!'' Hard but realistic. Hopefully they will come with hunger tomorrow.

Agree with that. If Rudy loose a bit a physical qualities he become a very average player at best. Hope he can bounce back. If age reach him, end of career may be hard.

If that is the case, I'm glad the Jazz got all of his best years. I hope he is able to pick it up and be successful for at least a couple more years, though.

Ehm... what? He had a horrible first half but that didnt eventually cost us the game. 3 of those turnovers (including the passes to the stands) and 5 of the 6 missed threes were all in the first half.

In the 2nd half it was the backcourt who played like garbage especially on defense and they also couldnt get any proper plays initiated on offense. They were constantly abused by Mills, Giddey and Exum.
Lauri played nearly 17 minutes first half, a bit over 13 minutes in second half. You are correct, he didn't have as many bloopers in second half as during first, but I would seem to claim it was due to fewer minutes played in second half.

He missed 3 shots and had 1 turnover in the 2nd half (which wasnt comical). He had just 8 points (on 3/6 FG, 2/2 FT), but he got 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block and 1 steal.

His 2nd half was not bad and he did recover from that very shaky start. Finlands woes were elsewhere.

New Zealand is a physical team and their footwork is a bit awkward. Layup landing on the wrong foot, strange turnaround shot.

Just realized they qualified through Asia.. of course they would qualify.. I mean they would be one of the tallest teams in Asia.

I wasn't able to catch the US/NZ game, but apparently Reaves played really well. What a find by the Lakers and an incredible bargain for them over the next few years.

So according to ESPN, the starters all sucked and the game was saved by the bench. Looks like Kerr really knows who to start

The second stringers saved the game. Paolo was great. And then there was poor Walker, with his 1.5 minutes at the end of the game. He altered a couple of shots in that time. I wish he would have made his one shot, because it was a sweet move.

Lots of games to watch in the early morning. At least Lauri and Jordan are at 7am.

Yeah but big part of that was Ant still being the Ant of last season (this being one of his down games). Dribbled the ball off his foot twice, totaled 5 turnovers, 0/3 on 3s and 4/7 on FTs.

I was close to buying his stocks but now I'm having second thoughts seeing he has a game like that against NZ level competition.

Ant is still a product under construction. He is good in defense, got really high offensive power but still far from beeing a good PG for conducting the game. Hopefully he learn this part from Mike. If he can he will be a superstar, if not he will remain as a great player as in Don.
Soon will have France_ Latvia. Will be interesting one. France come from one of the worst team performance ever and Latvia got good shooters.... i will attempt the game and i will look particulary at Rudy perf.
