Following Potential 2025 Draftees

That's really it. I think if you need to win a basketball game tomorrow and you get to choose any of the guys projected to be top 15 in this draft... how many players go in front of Kon? 2? I get that you are trying to predict the answer to that question 5 years from now but... dude just does a lot of things that could help you win and doesn't have like fatal flaws.

The more I watch Kon, the more I like him. He doesn't get much separation but he uses his body so well to create just enough space to get his shot off. And its so consistent. Also pump fakes like crazy all the time. The production is also undeniable. I don't want to say I'm on the Kon bandwagon but I'm excited to watch more. Just a really good player.

And if everyone had confidence that it would, he’d easily go top-10.

My argument would be this: it’s prohibitively difficult/rare to get special players outside of the draft, so you draft players that could be special, especially if the risk is relatively low (in this case, it’s opportunity cost vs whoever’s left at 21… while already having too many prospects).

If Beringer is there at 21, I get taking him over Wolf. I think. But an auto-generated stretch 5? If I need one, I’ll trade for one or sign one.
All of this

Same. Some guys the more I watch the more I shrug. Kon is kinda the opposite.

I think Hardy would have a hay day with Kon. With all the screening actions, shooting, and movement.

More than anything, I want to come out of this draft with a guy who could be our 1A offensive option. Someone we can base the whole offense around. It would give some sense of direction for team building. Everything will be easier when we have a focus. If we are going to go for offensive players, I would rather swing on Queen or Tre or hell even Fears even if I'm not a huge fan of him (If we drop to 3,4,5). Later in the draft, guys like Wolf or Yang could be interesting in that aspect as they bring unique offensive skills that could make them real difference makers. I want guys with unique or elite skillsets that can lead the Jazz offense.
For someone that does not like Ace because of perceived negatives, I do not understand you liking Derik Queen. Talk about negatives. Doesn't shoot. Doesn't play defense. Older freshman. Antiquated style of play for current NBA (saw a quote that said he would have been a top two pick in the late 90s-early 2000's) Plays below the rim. etc etc

The funny thing is I am not actually a huge fan of Ace. I just think he is a lot better than anybody projected 6 and later

I like Queen's craft and the offensive hubness of his game. Really good handle for a big, really good at being both physical or crafty when the situation calls for it to get a bucket. Love how the passing flashes with him. The non shooting is a massive concern, the defense and what position he will play is a big concern as well. But the overall offensive package is great enough where I just put the concerns on the backburner.

Just as people have high hopes for Ace's potential and what he can be, the belief is strong enough where the concerns are on the backburner. Thats how I feel about Queen.

Age isn't something I think about all that much unless its outlier young or old.

The production was also quite good in college. Maryland made it to the sweet 16 with him being their best player. The physical traits are underwhelming and there is something in the back of my mind saying that this might be the peak of his basketball career (aka a guy great in college but not the nba.) but I believe in the offensive skillset enough to where I would use a #3 pick on him.

Given all this Kon love, I think I need to hold firm with Kas at #5 just to be a little different.

The more contentious we get about who should be 5, the more likely it is we get #1 because of course we wasted our time talking about nothing.

Apologies if this has already been posted, but this NBA scout (at least that what he claims) who is doing these breakdowns of all the draft guys absolutely gushes over Danny Wolf, says he can contribute in the NBA right away. What he points out is pretty compelling, but my biggest problem is that he is only watching highlights of his makes, not any of his misses.

I love the avc Chanel.

Listened to Mann talk about the Jazz trading down from #2 on Lowe’s podcast. Have to say that this one of the dumbest takes I’ve heard all draft cycle. If DA thinks someone is better than Harper and trades down like he did for Tatum that is one thing. I won’t agree with the evaluation, but the logic makes sense. If we trade Harper because we have Collier, Sexton, and Key just fade me now. We didn’t tank a whole year for those guys. We tanked so we could draft a player like Dylan Harper.

I’m probably wrong but I’m not in on vj. Love that he can shoot and his athletic ability is obvious but I’m of the belief that wiggle cannot be learned. I fear he’s a smaller Wiggins

Donovan learned wiggle. Even though he isnt the wiggliest, he improved on it over the years.

Ok i know I will get flamed for this but here it goes....

I want Copper Flagg period but if we don't get the #1 pick i kinda want the 3rd or 4th pick. I know Harper is #2 and that would be the pick but if we get the other picks image the conversations here on JazzFanz and who we should draft.

I totally see Ainge pull and Ainge of we get #2 and trade down for Ace but if we get 3 through 5 there will be a lot of debate about who to draft and that will just make the draft that much more fun. I am in this for the entertainment value.

Just saying
