Game Thread NBA Draft Lottery - May 12, 2025

Added to Calendar: 05-12-25

How do we even get out of being completely **** for the next 5+ years? Honestly? We're apparently going into year 4 of Ryan Smith's plan to get the Jazz's championship......

The actual garbage teams of the Jazz, Wizards, Hornets, and the Nets will all be taking dumps every game again next season.
NAH, I think teams are gonna start realizing that you don’t necessarily want to be a top four team in the lottery

And you know it's not the market. The league just has a list of teams they really like. Where is San Antonio? First Wemby and now 2nd pick. It's not like people are lining up to buy their merch or tickets.

Oh, so San Antonio became a new Cleveland for conspiracy theorists as a small market team that the NBA is hellbent on flooding with rigged top picks?
You are obviously way behind on this conversation. Feel free to search for it and catch yourself up. Basically you're wrong on every part of it.

San Antonio has moved up 3 drafts in a row.
Until they do the draft in front of the cameras, I'll continue to think it is rigged. The Luka trade was too suspect, which is why I, along with many others, believed they'd be rewarded in the lottery. The Spurs must have some damn good blackmail evidence against Adam Silver as no team is that "lucky".

A good Wemby team inflates ratings on the major markets. With the new tv deal, the NBA has a lot of pressure to have high rating games. It is a business, and all about the $$$.

I feel like I’m being forced at gun point to believe in conspiracy theories. What else can explain the “coincidence” that the last two teams to trade their franchise player to the Lakers receive the #1 pick?

And what kompromat do the Spurs have on the league? This defies any reasonable explanation. Conspiracy is the most reasonable explanation. I feel deeply violated.
We all questioned why Dallas traded Luka for a hurt AD. And didn't get any picks or anything else for him. Well we know now. The sad part is the NBA isn't even trying to hide it. Takes major cojones to allow such a lopsided trade to happen, but to then give them the #1 pick because of it and make it look so innocently fair .
