One of these players will be available for the Jazz at #5. However, if the Jazz have a strong preference, they may also have an opportunity to trade up to #3 with Philadelphia and take the player of their choice.

Which player do you prefer for the Jazz among these three?

This is the correct poll question.

I’m here to swing for the fences and there’s one that stands head and shoulders above the others in that regard.

It's early in the draft process, but the chatter among draftniks is consistently predicting that VJ Edgecombe will go at #3 or #4. Tony Jones keeps insinuating that the guy he expects to be available at #5 is Ace Bailey, rather than Tre Johnson.

Jazz may be able to stay at 5 and take Ace. If they want Tre or VJ, they need to think about moving up.

Leif Thulin Says there are scouts he’s talking to that have Ace 9th or 10th. Wonder if they’re on the jazz. Maybe that’s driving Tony’s opinion

I don't think David Locke would be crowing about Ace if that were the case. He'd be trying to sell the Jazz fans on Fears, Knueppel or someone else. There are a few tweakers out there that think the Jazz would take Demin in the top 10.

Tony Jones did a radio interview this week with Spence Checketts where he said he thinks Philly will take Edgecombe if they keep the pick. He thinks Charlotte will then pick between Johnson and Knueppel at #4. Then he thinks the Jazz will likely take Ace at #5 (although maybe Johnson also gets to 5).

I’m using my old measurement of #hunger to evaluate players this year.

Tre seems to have the most #hunger out of the 3.

VJ is really hard to read.

Ace seems to have the least.. just seemed too nonchalant to me.

I’m going with Tre.

Ace, but not by much. At this point I just want the Jazz to roll the dice on upside, and he has the most.

I'm not down on VJ like others are. Dude is extremely athletic and from all accounts has a great work ethic. That's usually a recipe for success in the NBA. And Tre seems like the safest pick that has a high floor, so if he's left at #5 he'd be fine too.

That said, the Jazz are most likely going to get who's left of the 3, so I'll convince myself to be pretty happy with any of them.

I think vj is going to be a good player but I think he’s 3 and D. Will rely on other players to hit him for open shots but he’ll be able to take advantage of close outs and pack it at the rim. That’s a pretty good player but would prefer a shot at a star.

That would really be wild if we ended up having to chose between Ace and Tre. Lol

It would be something if he ends up dropping like Cam Whitmore a couple of years ago.
I know Cam is a weirdo who doesn't pass but the idea that passing on him yielded us some other great player in two attempts is flat-out incorrect.

If that's where this is headed, sus it out and zero-in on where you can trade down to maximize value. A relatively humbled Ace Bailey sounds like the best version of Ace Bailey.

You do realize that "#" is not a letter, right? Are you trying to say "chunger" or something?
