Keyonte George Hype & Appreciation Thread

how silly that people are still talking about keyonte as a starter. that ship sailed the moment he stopped playing the pg position. however, remember that we fell in love with clarkson years ago when he won sixth man of the year. and we loved ingles both on the bench and occasionally starting. we need good bench guys and he might just be one. as long as clayton can play point guard they can fit together just fine,

I think its a bit silly for anyone to think that they know anything about the future of this team and how rotations will work or how good a 21 year old player will be in the future.

Well we clearly know about Kessler and Cody Williams. So why would keyonte have benefit of the doubt?

Im sure you were joking but I have no clue how good Cody or Kessler will be or what they will look like in a an nba rotation 5 years from now. At 26 years old Keyonte could be in the running for nba mvp. Very unlikely but he has the tools to be as good as anyone in the nba. Kessler obviously wont ever been a great scorer. Cody is limited a bit by his lack of size and strength. Nothing is holding keyonte back from a physical or skill standpoint. For him its all about effort, attitude, and bbiq to determine how good he will be.

Agreed. His first couple of years haven't exactly been the most cohesiveness from a basketball standpoint and what direction the team was moving not to mention the fact that we are still only talking about a 21yr old as well. I feel like year 3 is when players tend to make their largest leap because it's their second full offseason and they tend to get more feedback about what to work on after year 2. They also have a better idea of what they did right and wrong from their first offseason as a pro.

It will also make him look better if the entire team tries to win games this season (which im unsure is going to happen)
Hard to play well with constant rotational changes happening every couple games. Helps to build chemistry with teammates and team role.

This topic seems like It finally might be deserving some positive posts.

After that second season I felt really close to give up on him entirely, not just as a starter, but as a piece for the future, but now he looks like a player that deserves his status as a starting PG - at least for the current goals of the team - and a consideration as a real piece for the team going forward. Maybe the biggest turnaround of this Jazz offseason.

Bizarre take. The second half of the Kings game showed that he's still more of less the same old Keyonte. Always walking the ball up (with Hardy absolutely screaming to push the pace), overdribbling in place until late in the clock and then having to take ultra difficult fadeaways... we've seen it a million times before. On the plus side, his 1-on-1 defense has improved somewhat and the effort on that side of the ball seems a bit more consistent.

But Key is not a PG. This team has only one PG and that's WCJ. The quicker he takes over the starting spot, the better.

Key has looked great as a PG. Just needs to shooting to come along. Really impressed with how he has run the team and has figured out how to get easy baskets.

The Jazz have 3 good PG prospects right now. Key/Walt both look legit and we still have Collier to see if he can improve as more of a rim attacker to compliment what we already have.

Crazy that a player who put up 10 and 9 assist games isnt a PG.

Keyonte so far this season vs previous seasons: Points are up (despite attempts per game being down), assists are way up (9.5), blocks are up, steals are up, 2 point field goal percentage is up, free throw attempts are up, free throw percentage is way up (91%).

Looks way more comfortable, composed, and confident and a much better leader. Just needs the 3 ball to fall.

So far so good for Keyonte.
