What's new

Raul Neto : new spectacular talent

Raul just won over the room and all Jazz fans by saying his dad loves Stockton and wanted him to be drafted by the Jazz.

He has a little something to him, he's an edgy PG, not your typical run out of the mill vanilla PG... he's got an attitude to him.

He is the new Kyle korver. Chicks are going to go nuts.

He won't be here until 2014. I guarantee it.
Jazz said twice they were being very open-ended. I think the big plan for this season is to sign another veteran PG to play in front of and/or split mins with Burke. Tinsley will come back for 1 season as the 3rd PG to mentor Trey. Then next season, Neto will replace Tinsley on the roster.

Lindsey sold Walt Perrin on Neto with:

- He can get to the hole

- He can get deep into the paint

- Has shown to be able to shoot

- He can pass the ball

- Potential Comp: "Steve Nash very early in his career - Santa Clare, not now".

Sounded like he was looking for a potential Tony Parker to me...

I think they will see how he does in the summer league. If he plays well, they will go with Jamaal, Trey and Raul. If not, send him overseas. Basically, it's Neal vs Raul for that third pg spot. I'd even bet Neal will be in Orlando as well.

Meant to post this earlier, that I also believe he'd play in summer league no matter what is contract situation is, I couldn't see how it would cause any conflicts and help the Jazz decide if they want to bring him over (which it kind of sounds like they do to me) or if it would be to expensive. He's not a first round pick so there is no set salary he technically could make more then Gobert and that may be part of the sticking point is the Jazz can only pay so much of his buyout but since he's a 2nd round pick he could sign for more to make up for that loss.

Doubt it.

Lindsey said it at the press conference, whether or not Gobert plays in the Summer League will depend on his contractual obligations. They'll need to do the paperwork pronto and also seeking to get clearance from FIBA.

There's a chance Gobert might play.

There's 0.01% chance Neto might play.

Dennis Lindsey says Tiago Splitter told Spurs to keep an eye on Raul Neto.

I'm surprised Spurs didn't buy a 2nd to grab him and learn from the aging Tony Parker.

There's 100% chance Neto plays in Orlando.

I think Neto reminds me of Stockton.
Plays upright, keeps ball to basket, keeps head up looking for players.
Great ball handler, not lightning quick, great anticipation, keeps defenders always off balance trying to guess his moves.
Ugly shot but effective. Keeps plays going. Plays under control always.
He seems like the best of the remaining PGs after Burke.
I like him better than Schroeder.
