QBs, off the top of my head, I would take over Favre:
Elway
Marino
Montana
Fouts
Bradshaw
Manning, P.
Staubach
Young
I would say that for some, recent memory is clouding their judgement of the man overall. Don't get me wrong, I HATED him when he was with the Packers, however, Marino and Fouts never won the big one; and for Elway he had to rely on Terrell Davis. Favre is a back to back MVP winner and the stats speak for themselves:
1994 - 3,882 YDS, 33 TD's, 14 Int's, Pct. 62.4, Rate 90
1995 - 4,413 YDS, 38 TD's, 13 Int's, Pct. 63, Rate 99.5
1996 - 3,889 YDS, 39 TD's, 14 Int's, Pct. 59.9, Rate 95.8
1997 - 3,867 YDS, 35 TD's, 16 Int's, Pct. 59.3, Rate 92.6
1998 - 4,212 YDS, 31 TD's, 23 Int's, Pct. 64, Rate 87.8
1999 - 4,091 YDS, 22 TD's, 23 Int's, Pct. 57.3, Rate 74.7
2000 - 3,812 YDS, 20 TD's, 16 Int's, Pct. 58.3, Rate 78
2001 - 3,921 YDS, 32 TD's, 15 Int's, Pct. 61.6, Rate 94
2002 - 3,658 YDS, 27 TD's, 16 Int's, Pct. 61.9, Rate 89
2003 - 3,361 YDS, 32 TD's, 21 Int's, Pct. 65, Rate 90
2004 - 4,088 YDS, 30 TD's, 17 Int's, Pct. 64, Rate 92
2005 - 3,881 YDS, 20 TD's, 29 Int's, Pct. 61.3, Rate 70.9
2006 - 3,885 YDS, 18 TD's, 18 Int's, Pct. 56, Rate 72
2007 - 4,155 YDS, 28 TD's, 15 Int's, Pct. 66.5, Rate 95
2008 - 3,472 YDS, 22 TD's, 22 Int's, Pct. 65.7, Rate 81
2009 - 4,202 YDS, 33 TD's, 7 Int's, Pct. 68.4, Rate 107
Saw Gregbroncs mention Kelly, who never won the big one, and Namath who his memorable for his boast and being the first QB to throw for 4000 yards, but his career numbers are pretty mediocre.
Namath Career(wont give you a laundry list like I did with Favre):
173 TD's, 220 Int's, 50.1 Comp Pct., Rate 65.5
His best season was 1967 where he threw for 4007 yards, 26 TD's, 28 Int's, and had a completion percentage of 52.5, QB Rate of 73.8
