Can we just release Burke and Hayward?

Punch Bowl Re-Filler
Good grief...3-17 and 3-12.
Hayward now 41%/31% and Burke 37%/34%. Just horrible. Whoever we get in the draft should replace one of them as a starter.

Hayward still got to the FT line, still made plays for others, played great defense, and rebounded well. Hayward hate is dumb. We will re-sign him for around 10-12 million and he will be great when his role is adjusted to what it should be.

Burke may yet pan out, but he isn't looking stellar. Now that defenses have adjusted to him being the primary guy he isn't handling it well. Hayward will be better when he is in the right role as Cy pointed out, but he has to fix that shot. We can't have him bricking even wide-open shots. From 20 ft in he should be automatic, and at least 40% from 3. His shooting has been atrocious and needs to be fixed.

Or he gets no other offers, Utah drops their offer to $8M, Gordon has to play for much less than he wanted so he pouts and continues to shoot like #$%@. I say if Boston or Phoenix show any interest, Utah should pursue a trade. Burks should be the starting SG and Utah needs to sign a free agent SF.

Hayward gets at least 10 million. I just don't see how he doesn't. He does a little of everything and has shown he can be a good shooter. His value is clearly Batum level. He will probably get around Batum money.

GMs see that Hayward is just being asked to do too much. Even in his worst year of shooting he still positively impacts games. He helps Utah win games even when he can't hit the rim. It's funny how people undervalue Hayward so badly here.

Don't we need an elite player for that to happen?

Need an elite player? No, though it would help. Our offense just needs to get better. More of the play-making burden needs to fall on the PG, or go to Burks (starting Burks). I think all those things would help Hayward's efficiency and allow him to focus on his off-ball game.

statistically, batum is better in nearly every category, but i can see the similarities

Wait until we win the lottery and Burke is our #2 option and Hayward is our #4 option.

Then we will all be whining about how they all aren't all stars.

Allstar #1, Burks #2, Hayward #3, Burke #4

Looks pretty good to me.

I want some of what you're trippin' on.
Wait until we draft Gordon and we have no one in the lineup who can shoot!

Hayward is good, he just needs to act more like a shooter than a scorer. Make plays for others, play some defense and take open catch and shoot jumpers. Basically a facilitating version of Marvin Williams.
