Following potential 2014 draftees

I've watched a lot of Randle this year, I really don't think he can play SF. If you draft him, prepare to move Kanter. That's fine, I don't even necessarily disagree with it, just understand it's coming.

I like Randle too. Think he will be terrific.
Especially after the reports with him and his mom.
Seems like a good character guy.
Just wondering how he gets time with Favors, Kanter, Gobert, etc.

I take the best guy and worry about minutes later. That kind of stuff should take care of itself.

kkk and I agree on Randle, but we disagree on position. I agree with you that he's a PF all the way. But again, whether he's a SF or a PF, if he's the best guy, you just take him and worry PT later.

Right now the Jazz are tied with Boston at the 4th spot with Boston having two games with Philly. I think the Jazz have to drop a few spots to be in the Gordon drafting position. The Jazz will still have a legitimate shot at Embiid if they are in the top 3 and maybe 4. No one knows that much about Exum so if he comes in and blows people away then he could be a top 3 guys. A few GMs already have him there.

I'm honestly excited to see how the rest of the tourney plays out. If Kentucky wins a chip and as a consequence some GM is willing to overlook Randle's glaring weaknesses and trust that he'll develop all those skills from scratch. And accept he'll never play adequate defense. If he can surpass Embiid, Parker and Exum?
Who plays the wildcard Exum as you guys look at it.
What happens with Embiid's back and ankle?

If the Lakers miss out of Wiggins, Parker, and Embiid they will take Exum. I guarantee it, so that means they will have to get the #4 pick or lower.

Jazz end up with the #5 pick.

Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, and Randle are all gone.

This is essentially worse case scenario, but who do we take?

Exum? Gordon? Smart?

Exums been linked to Orlando also, if they view him as a floor general after workouts dont expect him to workout for anyone else.

Exum, Oladipo, Harkless, Harris, Vucevic

seems pretty balanced it stands to reason they would be looking for a floor general instead of looking to replace some of their young players

I know this sounds rather ridiculous since we haven't seen him play much, but I wouldn't be opposed to the idea of Exum starting and Burke coming off of the bench in the future.

Randle is an Alpha, a difference maker, a go to guy. He was the MOP of the region. Gordon is just another cog in the machine. IOW, there's a reason Randle is still playing and Gordon isn't. And it isn't because Kentucky is a better team than Arizona.

Uhh, Gordon was the best player on all 3 wins.

Randle has not been the best in all of UK's wins.

I honestly want no part in Embiid or Exum..

Are you going to give us little snippets, or do you care to explain why?

This is one of my pet peeves. Tons of people have opinions, very few can state why they have those opinions. Whether you are right or wrong, learn to state your opinion. I've been called a moron plenty of times, and I've been a moron plenty of times (look at my posts in one of the Kanter threads)…you learn from being able to state why you think a certain way.

i really think the concern for Embiid's back is overblown. if it were to hurt his draft stock that fall in value will happen around workouts/interviews, until then its just speculative

If you look at draft picks as assets, Embiid has the potential to be the biggest asset. A 7 footer with defensive and offensive skills are hard to find. Even though we have a log jam at center, Embiid gives us the most options.

Embiid - We already have Favors and Kanter, plus back problems.. Injuries with big men are bad.

Exum - Already said LA would be the best place for him to play, plus we have no real footage on him.

PG Burke
SG Hayward
SF Randle/Gordon
PF Favors
C Kanter

6th Man: Burks

That's a big line-up and I think it could be very successful.

That's easily one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA, even if Corbin isn't our coach.

Favors, and possibly Hayward are the only plus defenders in that entire lineup. Plus Randle's perimeter skills aren't enough to make up for his defensive lackings. In that lineup, you have 3 players who operate best within 10 feet of the rim…that isn't a good thing.
