Comes down to I don't think Kanter is hungry enough to be good. Sad but may be true.

I disagree here. Getting "in shape" is different than a potential shot at being the focal point of a country's offense against the world's best. Would be invaluable for Kanter.
Of course Turkey's old offense was trash-- but I'm sure they've switched it up, and they would probably rely more on Kanter now
Kanter is being a diva. I can get over everything about him (including the defense comment) but this NT-fiasco is embarrassing.
Turkey is in group C with the USA, the other teams are ****ty, they'l survive either way.
Dominican Republic - Finland - New Zealand - Turkey - Ukraine - USA
What makes you think they'd want him to play? Kanter's rookie contract is up after this coming season, and he's eligible for a contract extension now. If he plays poorly for the NT or gets injured, what might the Jazz agree to in an extension? If the extra NT games and practices negatively affect his games with the Jazz due to fatigue, how will it affect Enes's next contract? I'd guess the risk of playing for the NT are greater than the potential rewards.
New Zealand has a good team this year. They'll also have Steven Adams. They've already beating the Koreans.
Well first of all, national team means a lot to any turkish fan, citizen or player so he must play unless he is dead, at least thats what we turkish folks think.
Second, if enes is going to be an allstar player in nba, first he should learn how to face challanges, not to back off just because there is a risk of failure. It is a challange now, if he is going to be anything close to a good player we are hoping, he should go out there and make his mark on the tournament instead of making stupid tiny plans how to skip tournament.
If he is backing off right now, that means he doesnt deserve any potential rewards at all. Simple as it is.
Turkish posters, do you think Kanter would be the focul point of the offense?
That's a lot of ignorance for a single post. World Cup is not exhibition ball, it's where the best basketball counties in the world gather and go to war against each other.
Turkey is currently the fifth biggest favorite to win it all. So imagine if Kanter gets to the final game vs the US. A game that'll be watched by dozens of millions of Turks, hundreds of millions of other nationalities around the world. That'd an invaluable experience.
Also getting in shape and getting in game shape are different things. And Kanter is CERTAINLY getting more than 20 mins. Not sure how you get to learn all this misinformation. You should be given some kind of a reward. LOL

What's better, going against the Gasols and team USA
Or shooting free throws with Kiki Vandeweghe
Oh hell yeah!Turkish posters, do you think Kanter would be the focul point of the offense?
Oh hell yeah!
I mean, only a dumbass would not play through him on offense and Ataman definitely is not one.
But the guards will chuck you can't stop them. Maybe Ataman can. Hope he will.
I don't believe Kanter wants to play for Turkey. The timing of his "surgery" suggests he wanted to be excused from the tourney. Perhaps all of the hate generated made him rethink his position.
Why does Ersan Ilyasova not play for Turkey? (Or at least he isn't listed on the FIBA site)

He has injuries. Legitimately.Huh? I thought he has/does??
I think you Turkish dudes should embrace team Croatia for now; Bogdonavic, Tomic, Saric, Hejonza. That seems like a team that could drive the US nuts in a few years, if not this year.
