Chess Match Thread

I played more safely than I usually do and it threw me off some. Meh it was fun. I was happy with it overall especially playing a line I don't normally play.

You have a very valid point there. That's a serious problem for almost all players. I also feel very vulnerable when I play within the lines that I'm not much familiar with. And it usually doesn't go very well if the opponent knows what he/she is in.

ECTA v. babe

I wasn't sure between two moves for a brief moment. I could go with castling, an always safe and sound option earlier in the games or I could mirror you, babe. But of course I chose the latter

Siro v. babe

1. Nf3 d5
2. d4 Nc6
3. Nc3 e5
4. e5 dxe5

OK, so to get this going again, let me clarify what I think has happened here. . . . Siro is white, and babe is black, so the list of moves we compile should follow a n. Siro, babe notation since black is the respondent on each move.

1. Nf3 d5
2. d4 Nc6
3. Nc3 e5
4. dXe5. . . . to which I respond. . . .NXe5, making the diagram

So anyway it's hard on the onlookers to follow two games at once, but I'm doing this merely to fit into my schedule. If I can just sit here one of these days while someone is doing the same, maybe we'll just finish one of these games. . . .

Log, you're too willing to give piece for piece instead of sacrificing a loss and taking position.

Just my .02

I would have liked to have seen a couple of other choices played out on this game. . . . I was cheering for Log because he was the underdog. . . .like I usually do.

Siro has my initial strength rating of 2450, I'm claiming to be 2100. ECTA, OB, franklin, and log 2400. ha ha. I like to be the underdog, and I like trying to play against a superior opponent. That's what it takes to improve my game. Maybe I can get my brother to sign up to JF forum and maybe get him out of his basement, even if he is watching sports.

With very evenly matched opponents you would expect a win to take the form of just a piece or a couple of pawn's material advantage and a game that extends into the end-game. If we were running it as a true match it would be different. Hard to judge anything on one game. But I appreciate your ratings babe. These must be our JFCF ratings (JazzFanz Chess Federation).

I'm no chess expert, but I don't think the king can move like that.

I sometimes find it amazing what Kings can do at 4 a.m. lol

hmmmm. . . . .

so my N move at 4 am was unsupported, and it was a gaffe probably not something I can recover from, but if you're here, let's knock this game out fast.

I'm here for about half an hour. Let's get a few moves in.

So I'm having a "learning curve" on the image generator. . . . and the whole looking at the board on this image layout actually. I'll get it together pretty quick I hope.

This isn't going to be fun for you. I just need to resign to spare you the pain of trying to end the game in two moves instead of three. . . .
