It was as good of a look as you can hope to get in that situation.
It wasn't. If there had been 3 secs less on the clock, then sure. There were multiple better options as JC was driving.

Rough shooting night is relative. He had some looks from three that he normally knocks down. It’s just hard to have the energy to guard a guy like Sengun and score 30.
No-one shoots >50 % from 3. One shot in and he's 36 % from 3. And as I said, he was 5/7 from 2.

If that's a rough shooting night, then JC and especially Sexton had awful, awful, abysmal shooting nights.

Tough loss. Good job by Hardy using a 3-guard rotation in the second half. Keyonte's minutes are often brutal. The Jazz need another PG badly, if they want to compete in the playoffs. Preferably an upgrade to Dunn, but at the very least a playable back up PG.

The Jazz struggled big time rebounding and defending the interior with Kessler off the floor, and that was a big reason for the loss. I wish Hendricks was ready for rotation minutes.

Dude. No he didn't. He ran into three defenders with a big contest (close to a block) from Tate. That's not wide open, that's not open at all. Which forced him to shoot much differently and out of rhythm - barely grazing the rim. And he took the shot with 3+ seconds on the clock.

That was absolutely the wrong play, as were almost all of Sexton's and JC's plays in the final 10 minutes.

Yeah, sure, you'll make some shots if you take 30 of them. Doesn't make them good shots.

Lauri didn't have a rough shooting night. He was 5/7 from 2 and one more made 3 and he's pretty much at his average. What Lauri had was a "not getting touches once Sexton and JC went full hero ball" night.
From what I saw Clarkson was wide open for an easy shot they he makes like 80% of the time. The last shot was a great shot.

The only reason I harp on that specific play is the fact that we are down by 1 with 5 seconds to go, and Jordan has a clear lane to pass to our best player who is asking the ball and also in a more advantageous situation. Its not a moment to think, its just a matter of respect.

The fact that he stumbled on a good look 2 seconds later doesnt really excuse him for not making that pass. The correct result for holding on to the ball should have been a contested pull up 3, but Houston makes a mistake and Tate turns his hips the wrong way (to guard Tech, when there was another player behind him covering Tech already).
Good lord shut up. Get got a wide open shot he is money at

I think you are overly harsh on Sexton.

Lol you do realize who you were responding to right?

Posters like Herman G freak out if you criticize Keyonte but somehow it's ok to shut on a dude who created a quality game winning look. The same dude who has been making most of the clutch shots throughout the game.

If you play your screenshot a little more you can see holiday closing in on Lauri and sengun already at the paint. Clarkson saw a chance to get closer he went for it.

Second pic you can see he’s defender is too late he’s already airborne. That’s his shot he even said it he makes that everyday just short armed it. Lauri and KO is open here for 3 though but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad shot. He had time to pull up its not a forced shot.
Ya that second picture shows he had a great, open look to win the game. Sometimes shots don't go in.

I also noticed the game is more enjoyable when I'm not on the forums, since I can avoid all the negativity and not have my opinions influenced by others.
The negativity is the worst part for sure but I have zero personal friends who are fans of the Jazz so be able to talk about them to other junkies fills a much needed gap for me.

I have one friend that follows the team, and we text during the game. I like the forums, and I enjoy reading what people have to say. But probably better off doing it after the game.

It wasn't. That's probably 35-40 %, max. Whatever Lauri would've done from the wing, would've been a much higher %.

The only shots in the NBA that are 80 % are right at the rim, dunks and layups.

What was funny, at the OT Houston ran similar off ball action for Jabari, we've ran for Lauri since day one. We defended those situations poorly, so they basically killed us with our own weapons.

Watched the replay. It was the right play. Lauri wasn't open. If anyone was open it was KO.

Shooting early was right so they could get a tip chance.

I thought it was quite the great look and one Clarkson makes 8 or 9 times out of 10.
Clarkson is 1/13 (7.7%) with running pull ups this year, and 0/3 from 2 point range. Last year he didnt even take a single running pull up from 2 point range.

But I digress, and never actually thought the shot he eventual took was that bad. My only problem is him keeping the ball when he had 2vs3 on his side and we had an advantage on the other side with our best player and our best shooter both being there.

Lol. It was an easy wide open shot by a great scorer who was hot. (I loved how Clarkson did the flamethrower thing after hitting a three lol. He mimed lighting a lighter under his shooting hand)

Clarkson was 12-25 from the field, 4-10 from three, 5-5 from the line, 33 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Markennan was 8-18 from the field, 3-11 from 3, and 3-4 from the line. 9 rebounds and 1 assists. Both players had 3 turnovers despite Clarkson handling the ball more. Both played the exact same number of minutes (38)
Lauri was less efficient than Clarkson from the field, from 3 and from the line. Had less rebounds, less assists and the same amount of turnovers.

Clarkson had a great game. Got the ball in an extremely high pressure situation where the time was running out and the jazz are down and he got a great look that missed. It happens.

If it was Markannen who missed the shot, we would be hearing all the complaints about how JC should've taken the shot because he was hotter.

I've seen Clarkson hit that shot a ton. I don't entirely trust the tracking system to accurately categorize these shots
