He'd either be a rental or eff up any plans we have to use cap space next year. If you wanted Brown you could have had him with space this offseason. Hoping this one is not true as it will cause me to have an aneurism.

Meh….ignoring the sunk cost fallacy, I just don’t think that Brown is that amazing of a player. He’s not a great shooter and just ok as a defender. Maybe better than ok, but he’s overrated on that end imo.

Offensively he’s really only been efficient when he can be a pseudo big man. He’s younger than KO, but KO is a lot better.

I guess we’re not giving up a ton.
 
Toronto once wanted THT as the centerpiece of a Lowry trade. Wonder if we could add THT in instead of KO.
 
Where would we be cap wise in the offseason if we added Brown’s salary for next year? Still enough room for the renegotiate and extend for Lauri?

With Simone and Ochai’s salary off the books hypothetically then yes we could.

Guys you have to pay attention to other teams. When healthy Nic plays starter minutes for them. They love him. He's likely retiring after the season. It will be RoCo or Morris.
 
Brown is fine... if you figure he is worth 5 second rounders (KO and Ochai could fetch that on the open market) and 23M in cap space next year I think that's rich.

Roco/Kormax or Morris if its Philly. Both deals get them out of the tax saving them $20M plus. Nic is literally starting for Philly... its not hard.

Batum's role would be redundant with Olynyk, and Olynyk would be an upgrade at this point. I think they want to tread water and have Embiid come back this season.

KO would be starting in Embiid's spot for now. Batum is their starting SF. KO is not a SF. Batum is a good defender and fits exactly what Philly wants. In no way at all are KO and Batum redundant and doing the trade that way would add salary.


So if we ignore all that then sure... it could be Batum.
 
If its Brown for KO and Ochai... I will hold my nose I guess. If we add on top its cuz DA is trade horny and I will have a mini meltdown at the lack of foresight we had this summer.
