2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

When we are talking about small samples and 150 shots is a small sample... I continue insisting that FTs are better approximation of his shooting ability and his FT shooting has been around 70% pretty much since forever... It's not terrible but it's not good either. If I saw just that figure and saw that it hasn't moved up for the last 3 years, I wouldn't assume he will be a great shooter.

BTW, just saw some highlights from Tidjane Salaun. What's the story with him? First time I see him... looks very intriguing.

I wonder if OKC would go after him.

I think they'd want someone who's more inside/outside. Filipowski is a decent complement to what they already have, though it wouldn't entirely shock me if they went after Ware. OKC's pick from Houston should be #12 or #13. OKC has also traded up or tried to trade up in both of the last two drafts.

This is very simple back of napkin type of "analysis" and I probably messed up counting....but there are 68 qualified players who make more than 2.5 3FG's per36 minutes.

48/68 shoot greater than 80% from the line
60/68 shoot greater than 75% from the line

Many of those 8 players seem to have outlier/low volume FT season. Of those 8 players that shoot less than 75%, only Fox and Duop Reath (who shot 80% prior to NBA) have a career less than 75%.

Memphis Grizzlies fans seem to want to draft a 5 with their pick at #7. If that happens, it would help push a guard or wing down to us, or it could open up a small trade-up opportunity. They want JJJ to play at the 4.

Good physical tools -- size/length/athleticism
Young -- still 18
Able to attack close-outs and open lanes and finish at the rim
Has some defensive presence on the perimeter
Shoots well from apparently just two spots on the floor.
Not much self-creation or playmaking at this stage.
Looks like a backup until more of his game develops.
I don't think he's a top 10 guy.

Clingan could legit go in the top 10 to the first team that wants to draft a center. The NCAA is setting up Clingan vs. Edey in the Finals. Keep an eye on Memphis for Clingan.

Givony is saying he’s a projected top-5 pick. Memphis might not even have a chance at him.
