Western Conf Standings by road wins vs. home losses

A decent, albeit imperfect metric to compensate for the effect of unbalanced schedules in the early going: Spurs 9-2 Grizz 4-1 Nuggets 4-1 Thunder 6-2 Jazz 3-1 Warriors 5-3 Clippers 4-3 Wolves 4-3 Blazers 4-3 Rockets 2-3 Mavericks 2-3 Suns 2-3 Lakers 2-5 Pelicans 2-7 Kings 0-6

What would put this Jazz team to the next level?

Tell me more about these solid bench players the Lakers have drafted.

What would put this Jazz team to the next level?

I think you're looking at points per shot. That's not the same thing as points per possession, which is the better measure of defensive efficiency.

What would put this Jazz team to the next level?

Just curious. Where are you getting 6th? ESPN Hollinger stats have us at 10th with a DEFF of 100.0.

UTAH JAZZ hosting SACRAMENTO KINGS 11/23 5pm (MST) ROOT Sports

Jesus Christ, shut the **** up. You sound so angry and dumb. The Jazz made a nice comeback and won tonight w/o their starting PG for most of the game. Don't you get tired of wallowing in negativity on the internet? You're never funny. You never provide any original insight. Your rants rarely...

BOOM. Got a question in Hollinger's chat for you guys.

Should Corbin be playing Burks/Evans more at the expense of Marvin/Foye? John Hollinger (12:51 PM) Evans shouldn't be playing. Burks should be, but Foye's floor-spacing is really helping them right now. The DeMarre Carroll thing is the part I don't get; they could be slotting Burks those...

    Mavs acquire D.Collison for peanuts

No way! I learned on JF just last week that giving up our best player, who averaged 19 & 9 last season, for this same average at best PG would be a "steal" from the Jazz's perspective.

Big Al for Darren Collison and future 1st rounder?

You know simple rating also accounts for the production of the guy Al's guarding, right? I enjoyed your implication that all the Jazz's other stars are carrying Jefferson to an undeservedly high rating. Obviously, Jefferson has nothing to do with his "five-man unit scoring a lot." The...

Big Al for Darren Collison and future 1st rounder?

Letting a perimeter player fly by to score doesn't hurt one's +/-. Got it. Thanks for the clarification.

Big Al for Darren Collison and future 1st rounder?

Of course, simple rating does account for defense, and Al still rates as the best player on last year's team by that metric. And I love how Hibbert's 12-8-2 is offered as evidence that he's better than Al (19-9.6-1.7).

Big Al for Darren Collison and future 1st rounder?

Jefferson=highest PER on team, best simple rating on team. But let's trade him for a below average point guard b/c he's a "ballstopper." Then the Jazz can play real "team ball," whipping crisp passes around the perimeter, leading to contested 19 footers.

Big Al for Darren Collison and future 1st rounder?

Why is the whole board obsessed with trading the Jazz's best player for below average role players?

    Lottery Standings

If Lakers pull this out, that would seem to make it more likely SA will sit starters vs. GS.

    2007 or 2012 Jazz?

You seem to be confusing two teams. The '07 team that played vs. Houston had Fisher at the 2 with Giricek off the bench. No Korver. That was Millsap's rookie year. The '08 team, whose lineup you laid out above, would absolutely destroy the current iteration of the Jazz.

    Following potential 2012 draftees

Don't necessarily think he'll come out this year, but what about Trey Burke of Michigan? I like his game.

Favors or Monroe: Whom would you rather have?

    I lean Monroe.

    opponents fg%

The 3pt% against is likely somewhat of a fluke that will regress back to the mean. Even with the low FG% allowed, the Jazz's propensity for fouling & difficulty rebounding have made them only the 10th best defensive team in the NBA. That's a bit better than last year but not much.

The question still remains can jazz do this in LA.

Bigger question might be: Can we do this when they have Bynum?
