2011 draft.....

His answer: "The games are on 3 a.m, late night here in Belgrade. I am sleeping by midnight each night. It is the rules of my club. I will try to watch the NBA Finals games recorded the day after. I have my own playoff games going on so I need to sleep and be ready to play."

Yeah, the question asked was he excited about the playoffs. The interviewer obviously heard from a source that he models/thinks his game is like both players.

I think the problem that Dwill_PwnasaurasRex was referring to was the way the interviewer phrased the question, suggests that Jan doesn't have a firm grip on what type of player he is. Dwill_PwnasaurasRex correct me if I'm wrong.

Was the interview translated or conducted in English? If he actually spoke English like that, that's pretty impressive.

I hope it was translated because I sure don't like this little gem:

"I am lucky that I have with me two top sports agents, Mr. Tellem and Mr. Raskovic. They are working very hard for me. And we will see. We will hope to choose the best team for me for the beginning of my career in the NBA."

I don't think it matters. If he really considered who he is most "like," he might have said Josh Smith. If he's being asked who he wants to emulate, Dirk/Lebron are pretty solid guys to pick. He's got Lebron's athleticism, he'd probably love to be the shooter Dirk is.

Well that's what agents do. They can use their power to "choose" teams by declining workouts, spreading rumors about guarantees, things like that.

I am not saying there is no truth to Coach Cal saying Kanter has talent. I am on the Kanter boat at 3. I will say that Coach Cal is going to do as much for Kanter as he can to get him drafted higher. JMO.

I'll stick with my original logic that coach Cal would not disrespect Knight by calling Kanter the #1 pick if he wasn't 100% sure sincere about the call.

I think the Jazz want Knight more than Kanter. Hopefully someone will trade up for him and the Jazz still get Knight like 5th or 6th

I'd take Kanter over Knight. I'd be happy with either, but agree Knight could still be there around 6 and, of course, would rather trade down as well. Having said that, I wouldn't commit suicide if we took Brandon at 3.

It's hard to get a sense of how good Knight is from a historical perspective. Is he worthy of the third pick or is he just the second or third best point guard in this draft? How would he compare to the lottery pick point guards from 2008 and 2009?

2008 Lottery
Derrick Rose
Russell Westbrook
D.J Augustine
Jerryd Bayless

2009 Lottery
Tyreke Evans
Ricky Rubio
Johnny Flynn
Stephen Curry
Brandon Jennings

To tell you the truth I think Brandon Knight will be on Stpehen Curry and Brandon Jennings level when he gets to the NBA, is that worthy of the #3 pick nobody really knows.

Kemba Walker is actually above average, or right at average height for a PG.

Above average? Kemba will be one of the 5 smallest players EVER taken in the lottery. At 6-1" (with shoes) he has anything but above average or "at least average" height. Now, as a lethal scorer, sure.

His arms are short and his standing reach is low.

I just came up with the perfect player comparison for kanter. Andrew Bogut.

I have seen that comparison - I don't think he'll be as good a defender as Bogut is, and I think Kanter has more range on his jumpshot. But if he ends up being at least Bogut, that's a win for the Jazz.
