troll or no troll, so disrespectful. i bet you never even watched 86 celtics. sad, sad, sad. this spurs isn't even the best spurs we've ever seen. i love this spurs because they are doing everything the right way, but this spurs can't beat an elite team from the past. they couldn't even beat Heat - a team without a big man.

87 lakers?
89 bad boys?
94 rockets?
00 lakers?
96 bulls?
92 bulls?
72 lakers?
83 bulls?


give me your honest answer. my answer is hell friggn no to all of them. and out of all those teams, i have to say 86 celtics are easily top 3 greatest team ever along with 87 celtics and 96 bulls.

doesn't matter how well oiled they are. spurs don't have talents to match these great teams of the past. and those teams were well oiled machines too. 86 celtics in 5.

i mean seriously?

You have to remember that everything today is better than yesterday, without exception. We all suffer from something like "nostalgia bias" or whatever that makes us pretend that Bird et al could even hold a candle to even the D League of today. Everything always gets better all the time. In another 30 years they will have to raise the height off the hoop because all basketball players will be 11 feet tall and capable of jumping clean over the backboard, and they will each have 4 arms that all move independently nearly at the speed of light and will shoot lasers out of their eyes and can control your mind. It is just the nature of everything getting better.

i'll take that as a sarcasm. but sadly, there are people who really believe what you are saying. it's sad. nba avg height remains the same for past 30 years yet many dudes think players in 80's were midgets with no athleticism. they don't even know 80's actually had many 7fters protecting the paint.

i thought about this hard and i tried not to disrespect this spurs team. i really enjoy them watching. but my conclusion is same - they have no chance. none. celtics are bigger team than spurs. and johnson is a type of guy who would really make parker struggle.

they lost to argentina because they didn't know how to play as a team.

and 40 year old MJ with 1 leg shot .445% in this league avging 20/6/4. 1 leg. no lift. misses dunk here and there. that's the year when kobe, tmac, vince carter, etc were in their prime. kobe that year shot .454%. i rmemeber MJ dropping 43 on richard jefferson - who was young high flyer. absolutely tooling him.

if 86 celtics plays our own utah jazz, it would look like a 92 dream team vs. spain. trey would look like freshman in college. favors/kanter would really get owned in the paint. and we have nobody who can do anything against the great larry bird.

Whoever the celtics had playing shooting guard would not be able to stay in front of burks...... burks would hang 50 on them celtics. ;-)

hope you are joking. 6ft 4 dennis johnson (r.i.p)is considered one of the top perimeter defender ever walked on earth. he was a premiere defensive stopper of 80's. think of DJ as smaller but more ferocious bruce bowen. and let's say burks beats him, then mchale and parish is waiting down low. on a 2nd unit, walton was no slouch.

and young ainge was very good help defender. with johnson and ainge, they were very good defensive back court. they were so smart and they just worked beautifully together.

What the **** is he thinking trying to defend Ray Allen with David West?

West in his prime couldn't defend a 100 year old Ray Allen. Has Vogel seriously not watched the NBA the last 15 years? Ray Allen is kinda a good shooter. Dummy

Other than maybe Corbin, is there another coach in the league who would put West on Ray Allen?
