2023 NBA Draft “Hot Takes” Thread

This is very lukewarm, but I don't think this is an amazing draft class. It's fairly deep in the mid/late lotto and Wemby is obviously a generational talent, but I don't think it's going to be as amazing as it's being sold.

Maybe it's just because I haven't followed that draft as closely in recent years, but the amount of excuses for players this cycle (some are valid) seems extremely high.

1. Sidy and Whitehead will be viewed as top 10 players for this draft in 5 years.

2. This will be viewed as the deepest draft in nba history in 10 years.

Hot Take - BOTH Thompson twins will make an all-star team by the end of their 4th season.

My Hot Takes:

1. JHS is the best of the PG grouping Black/Wallace./JHS/Bufkin
2. Jaime Jaquez will be a long-term starter in the NBA

1) Scoot will put up a bunch of empty calorie stats/points on low efficiency but casuals will think he’s great

2) Jarace will be super ok and be seen as a relative bust to draft position (if in the top 8)

3) Tey Henny will be 3’st and D’st of this class and will be top 30 total Raptor after 3-4 year and top 3 in this class In that same timeframe, in total Raptor

What legal issues? He’s not being investigated as far as I know.

Wallace has an average NBA career at best.

His length + agility will make him a nightmare on the perimeter as well as inside. His defensive numbers will be unlike anything we’ve ever seen and all the anti tankers will at bye bye cruel world!!!! Splat!!!
