Exactly. It seems to be extremely painful for people to admit that these guys have ZERO market. No takers. No interest.

Shorter contractsI think we’ve been shopping them for the last two years.
They'll probably make the playoffs if they try, and who know, maybe Tatum returns by then. The Celtics don't have a chance next season after the Tatum injury. It's basically a gap year for them. Their main concern appears to be dumping as much money as possible and maybe reload again in 1-2 years when Tatum gets back. By that time Jrue will likely be totally washed. He was already looking a bit rough at the end of this last season.
Bucks would basically have a two year window to win with Giannis who can opt out in '27.
But we have been doing so believing we had to win the trade. There is value in simply moving them, beyond what we get back.I think we’ve been shopping them for the last two years.
I think you’ve been stepping your game up as a trade machine savant. HH, Bill Simmons, and I welcome you.An idea that I came across....Sexton -> ATL. ATL has a trade exception from the DJM trade that expires at the end of the moratorium, so it's pretty much use it or lose it. It's large enough to take in Sexton. This would give the Jazz the potential to be a cap space team. We're right at the cap as it stands, and trading Sexton+waiving Martin+Svi would clear ~$30M in cap space. There's not anyone I would really go for unless you want to give Kuminga a Paul Reed type deal, but it would open up more opportunity for salary dumps and I think we'd get more compensation that way than a straight Sexton trade. Could obviously combine the salary dumps into one trade.
Nice. I was going to suggest Denver but didn't realize Braun was in line for such a big extension. They are likely stuck with the Murray contract too. It could make alot of sense to trade MPJ for multiple rotation players on expiring deals given their financial constraints.Another Sexton + Collins destination could be DEN. Christian Braun is expected to sign an extension that would be worth $30M annually. This would second apron them in 26-27, so they need to get off of MPJ's salary for expirings. Sexton + Collins for MPJ + Nnaji + Saric does them a huge favor in both helping them win next year and saves their cap in the future. Surely that is worth some good draft compensation?

You overlook Resslers love for money here. Maybe if his son goes "please daddy", but other than that he is just happy to save a few bucks. An idea that I came across....Sexton -> ATL. Naz Reid.Otherwise I’m not sure who we would target with cap space.
Salary dumps should be pretty fruitful this year since lots of teams need help and outside of Brooklyn there is none. Last few years it has been seconds for space. This year may be different. It would be funny to do the Sexton deal and then give Kuminga the Paul Reed special. First year guaranteed on huge money, second and third only guaranteed if playoffs are made. Would be a nice middle finger the Warriors. Otherwise I’m not sure who we would target with cap space.
Jake Laravia seems like a decent young player? Maybe we just aim for enough space to take Porzingis in outright and whatever Boston has in draft compensation to take his contract. We’d be pretty close I think.
Maneesh would have been good, but he kinda vanished.3 hour special episode.
With regard to KD... my guess is there is a deal in place with the Spurs that is basically close and that they are kicking the tires with a few other teams to see what is there but to also push the Spurs a bit higher. The reporting has been pretty specific on the Spurs with regard to the players involved (coming from Gambo in Phoenix). They also are likely looking at what they can spin out of the deal for something they may like better.
Eventually I think he is a Spur.
Yes. . . and no. It’s complicated.Maneesh would have been good, but he kinda vanished.
Yeah @Elizah Huge and I had some Phoenix deals with Walker.Wonder if PHX could make a play for Kessler with all the stuff they get. I’m pretty sure it was reported that they wanted a center out of this right?
