What's new

Donovan Mitchell has a bruised toe

It's going to be really interesting to see what happens if DM sits (HE SHOULD, PLEASE SIT HIM).

Udoh, JJ, Jingles, Hood, Rubio

Bradley, Jerebko, Thabo, O’Neill, Burks

And watch the Jazz win, so we can get more “we don’t need star players - trade them!” type of threads.

I really can't see whatever incentive Hill could possibly have to sit out the Warriors series if he didn't have to. He needed to showcase himself for a contract, and what better way than to play good against the Warriors.

If I had to guess your about 5' 7" and drive a lifted truck. You have all the signs of little man disease.

you're the author of the stupidest thing ever written on this site, so I'll take ^this^ guess in the appropriate context.

What gods do we need to sacrifice too, to stop these injuries? I blame the injuries over the years for us not taking the next step, he'll even Hayward couldn't get away fast enough, your welcome celtics!!!

Two things have kept us from progressing:

#1 - Injuries
#2 - not trading guys when we should have

We have let so much talent and so many assets go to waste because we either never traded a guy (AK, Jefferson, Hayward, etc.) or waited too long to trade a guy (Kanter, Boozer, Favors, etc.).

It is not easy to lift the curse... it involves a churro, some fry sauce, and enduring several days worth of Steve Brown interviews and play by play.

I already endure game after game of David Locke and those awkward cross talk interviews with Thurl Bailey....how much more do the basketball gods require?

When would have you traded Kanter, Boozer, or Favors?

Favors when he was injured? What would you have gotten for him? Kanter before you knew you had anything in Gobert?

I thought the Jazz handled Boozer brilliantly. I don't think I've ever seen a team getting a trade exemption for a leaving free agent since.

I don't ****ing care.

Injuries are just an excuse.

Snyder should still be fired for not playing Mitchell in the 4th quarter. He is a minus-mind, and worse than Corbin.

Also: Trade Gobert.

To answer your questions, this is how I see it. My roster objectives are twofold -

#1 either you are in asset accumulation or contention. If you are not contending, you should use every expendable asset to gain better, more timely, and more useful assets.

#2 every single player on the roster should be a specialist at something. If they are just a decent all around player, I rate them lower. The game is about matchups and specialists let you target specific matchups.

So to answer your question, I would have traded Boozer about halfway through his time here. Okur and AK were mismatch nightmares. Millsap was a budding contributor. I would have traded Boozer for a wing and relied on AK and Millsap at 4 and Okur at 5.

Kanter was unhappy and unsettled due to Favors and Millsap. I would have traded Kanter a year before we did prior to him becoming disgruntled. I would told Favors he is a center and played Millsap at PF instead of making the guy play SF. Kanter would have gotten us so much with 18 months on his deal instead of 6.

As for Favors, it all depends on what we did elsewhere. If he would accepted his role at C, he might be an all star center right now. If he demanded to stay at PF, I would have traded him not long after his best season a few years ago. I have always thought he was overrated as a PF. He has never dominated. However, when he was a 23-24 year old with that glorious potential, he could have gotten us some great value.

Better brown than nissaulke.
It will be tough but I’m in.

My idea that Favors and Gobert weren't a good starting combo? This was also 3 years ago. Thinking Favors would be better as the starting center with Gobert off the bench. That's the stupidest thing ever according to the tiny man.
