ENES KANTER: The third and last game of the preparation tourney will start in half an hour

as pkm will let you know. He needs like 4 years or something and then he will figure it out. I cant wait!!!!!
In <2 years, Kanter can make significant strides if he has effective off-court training and gets regular time on the court (i.e., not the Fesenko method of 5 minutes here and there, followed by 3 DNPs. Such sparseness is not likely to happen, as Kanter's probably got a better all-around game already, and the team is more likely to invest more resources in a #3 overall pick than a second-round afterthought.)

And you guys are probably the same folk who are chumming all over Gordy Hayward. How good was he at the start of the year. Don't be hypocrites.

Expectations are a little higher on Kanter being the 3rd pick. I guess the hype got to me, was expecting him to have a mini breakout game by now.

I'm trolling a little to be honest. I still think Kanter will be solid. We as a team are 2 or 3 years away still with Favors, Kanter, Hayward, and Burks being our future in my opinion. (This is probably obvious)

Yeah ... that's what I said. Looks like I've got a little stalker, love it. You say he'll be one of the biggest busts in draft history, I said he needs a year to get acclimated, I said your 'bust' statement was just dumb, you said I am arrogant and ignorant. Shall we move on now, or continue?

I agree and am pretty sure everyone else feels exatly the same.

To clarify things a bust for a 3rd pick could still be a serviceable bench player. For instance Darko is a serviceable player but globally considered a bust having been taken 1st. I think that's what Verlin is saying.

3 things:

1. First time playing with that group of guys.
2. First time playing in a long time.
3. Group of guys he's playing with are like an unathletic white AND - 1 chucker team. He clearly wasn't a focal point on the offense - ever.

Also, he needs to learn how to read the ball coming off the rim better. He fought a lot for rebounds and box out, but didn't position himself with the best angle to get the board.

I also noticed it seemed he was the only white jersey under the rim for a rebound, vs. 3 or 4 blue jerseys. I agree with Sep that the Turkish coaching was stinking it up (not an excuse for Kanter, just sayin').

Wish I had known that this game started earlier. Oh well, sounds like it was pretty similar to the last two games...

I think we need to ask ourselves, on this team, would Marc Gasol or Al Horford etc. do much better than Kanter has the past 3 games? Honestly, I don't think so. I mean, Kanter had 7 points and 7 rebounds in the first game right? I can see Marc getting 10 n 10 at best on this huck n' chuck team, so what are people complaining about? Does anyone seriously think we can make any assumptions about Kanter at this point?

Too be fair, it didn't really look like Kanter knew what he was doing out there. When #11 (the other center on the team) was in the game, it looked like they were running actual sets and ball movement seemed smoother. When Kanter is in the game he is just setting picks every chance he gets, and receiving the ball at the 3 point line to hand off to another guard. He looked scared of getting the ball and wasn't aggressively asking for the ball when he was open down low.

Sure, I think some assumptions can be made.

- He's rusty
- He's in a hurry
- He plays with a bunch of chuckers
- His team was poorly coached

wait ... no, we can't make any real assumptions, lol.

Agree. None of that concerns me, but I agree.

Well I think we can clear up some past assumptions. Kanter is not a post moves prodigy or an offensive renaissance man like many thought. Honestly, I'm a little worried that he might be a bust (but I always thought that) because I think his dominance in past U-Whatever tournaments was due to his distinct physical advantages over his same aged peers.

I see that the herd have decided Kanter is a bust. It's okay, next time he has a decent game he'll be back to the potential-savior status.
