ENES KANTER: The third and last game of the preparation tourney will start in half an hour

Too be fair, it didn't really look like Kanter knew what he was doing out there. When #11 (the other center on the team) was in the game, it looked like they were running actual sets and ball movement seemed smoother. When Kanter is in the game he is just setting picks every chance he gets, and receiving the ball at the 3 point line to hand off to another guard. He looked scared of getting the ball and wasn't aggressively asking for the ball when he was open down low.

The #11 plays in turkey and teammates with couple of the players. If you look at the points he made, the assists mostly came from Emir Preldzic from the same team (he was the best player for turkey today and his rights are held by wizards), they are making the same plays all year long but its first time Kanter played in this team and he barely got the ball.

Actually it sucked that in those 3 days turkish offense run very badly. They didnt move the ball to post and Kanter didnt get any chance to prove his offensive skills.

After these 3 games i can say that im not as optimistic as before about his rookie year, he seems very rusty, but he is more hardworking than i thought and his defense improved by margin in 3 days. Im laughing at people who compares his defense to Boozer because there is nothing similar.

I think Kanter will get better in the game as he will take larger roles in his teams, either jazz or Turkey. Right now he is just in a hurry to prove something on the court and he makes mistakes. If you add the lackness of games for 2 years and the unorganized offense of Turkey where Kanter had no role at all, he just tried to grab the rebounds and make position for himself without help of any guards, i think its not fair to criticize him like he is a bust or whatever.

His performance didnt satisfy me neither but there were 1 million factors for his bad performance. I dont think he will get many mins in the euro basket but at least we will get to see his play in more serious games.

But honestly, i dont think Turkey will do anything remarkable in this tournament. We were world second last year and we deserved but right now we play like ****. No post games, no good defense at all. And i agree with Archie, Ersan who is actually the best turkish player in the team, sucked in each of 3 games. Thats why im not sure how much Enes can prove in this chaotic team. I just hope he will get more playing time and have some professional game experience till the season starts.

Expectations are a little higher on Kanter being the 3rd pick. I guess the hype got to me, was expecting him to have a mini breakout game by now.

He is a little sluggish out there. Remember Dwill throwing the ball at Hayward. We definitely need to end the lockout overseas has some good players. But, I don't think that it is a place for anyone that is still developing. I would be better for Kanter if he was hanging with Burk and Hayward. Because the Jazz are going to run a smoother system to get him the ball in space. If we were to watch Favors on the Nets it would be very underwhelming. Burk is doing great because he can create, it is hard to create that much being big other have to create for you.

Yeah ... that's what I said. Looks like I've got a little stalker, love it. You say he'll be one of the biggest busts in draft history, I said he needs a year to get acclimated, I said your 'bust' statement was just dumb, you said I am arrogant and ignorant. Shall we move on now, or continue?

Lmao. Stalking? Hardly. You talked all this mess about how great kanter is and you have been owned. Hard.

To clarify things a bust for a 3rd pick could still be a serviceable bench player. For instance Darko is a serviceable player but globally considered a bust having been taken 1st. I think that's what Verlin is saying.

Exactly. Pkm has a dense visor on at all times.

spain:90 Lithuania:78

Jonas V had 10 points 4 rebbounds 1 block in 14-15 min.he had a terrible first half with 2 points from free throws with 0 rebounds,he got blocked by the rim, took the rebound and missed the shot from 2 inches,no minutes in third quarter,he got in when 6 minutes playing time left(spain was leading the game with 21 points) on fourth quarter, made 2 points from free throws and 4 points with 2 dunks.

Says the guy that is claiming bust after his first real games in >2 years being the youngest on his national team.

If Matthews, Millsap, and Hayward have taught me anything, it's that you can't assess **** so early.

Dude did you watch? He he lacks a post game, lacks explosivness lacks bb iq. Those things dont disapear because he didnt play.

Now that i dont have a screaming 4 month old in my arms let me explain. I want kanter to exceed. We need him to exceed. Watching him the last three days was very disapointing. My expectations were not that high after two years of not playing. What i wanted to see is a player that was so physically gifted that he could match up with any of the players on mediocore euro teams. He looked extremely ordinary. His lack explosion down low should be very concerning for any jazz fan. I mean he has sabonis hops. The post game he tried to show ended in a bunch of ill adivsed shots including a 12 foot hook shot over a player3-4 inches shorter than him that airballed. I dont want him to bust, and he still has a chance to redeem himself obviously. But that lack of explosivness is what really has me down and is not something that can really be corrected.

I'm seeing a lot more positives than most of you. So he missed a few shots. Big deal.

- he loves to set screens, and is always moving. rarely stagnant. he's going to fit in well with our system.
- he's battling out there. throwing elbows, throwing his body into people, setting hard screens. i like it.
- hes rebounding. this kid is going to come in from day one and help on the boards.
- he works on defense. he's not having a ton of success, but you have to like the fact that he is putting in effort on the that end. i don't see how he wont improve if he continues to work.
- he's very quick out there. fast for a big man.

relax people :-)

So Valanciunas 10 pts (3-5fg 4-6 ft) 3 reb 3 blks in 11minutes against Brothers Gasols and Ibaka frontcourt. Abusing Ibaka in 4th qtr.
Kanter 6 pts (3-8 fg 0-1 ft) 1 reb 1blk in 19 minutes against Serbia.
Hm...

Believe me when I tell you that all Jazz fans would love nothing more than for Kanter to exceed in the National Basketball Association.

Lapas are you Turkish? I only ask because i am interested in turkish pov after the past three days. Did he disapoint from anational persepective or were expectations low to begin with?

No I am not Turkish and I by my view ( I watched all Kanter and Valanciunas friendly games) Kanter looked like scrub compared to Valanciunas. Jonas showed me way better hoops, even more energetic, beter 1on1 defence, way better help defence, was better at grabing boards because of his great hands and had very soft touch around basket. Sorry but everything I saw Jonas looked better. Maybe Kanter will pick it up but if he won't he will not survive in NBA. Besides one post move ( turnaround jumper) I didn't see any NBA moves. Even his rebounding, he was good boxing out but he had problems to grab them - many of them slipping, playing against more athletic bigs it could be a problem...

he played 8 min at first half, and 6 in the second,i think it makes 14 minutes.and when he made most of those points on 4th quarter, gasol brothers were on the bench.he made his points in those minutes where spain was leading with 21 points and relaxed.but he did really good against Ibaka, good defence.
