Following potential 2013 draftees

LOL.. Chad Ford just told a story about Indiana wasn't going to draft Paul George until they were on the clock with 5 min. left to pick and Larry Bird said "No, I love this guy too much, I'm gonna draft him". That's exactly what I was talking about re: getting your guy even when all the mock drafts saids otherwise. It can be a gamble at times, but that's the call you have to make at times.
I agree. I think part of the reason Hayward and George have done better than some of the guys in the top 8 was that they were the first two picked after a supposed dropoff, which allowed GMs to be a little more free to pick who they liked.

Yep.

I'm not touching any wing without a defensive game in this draft.

Sorry, just not interested.

No offense, but anyone want to bring some actual discussion to the table?

I find it interesting that DX has Karasev going at #15 and Saric at #24. Where as Ford has Saric at #11 and Karasev isn't in his top 20.

Honestly, I might go with Karasev even though Saric seems to be the bigger name. The playoffs continue to show how important 3 point shooting is, and Karasev appears to be a great shooter along with passing, rebounding etc.

Saric might be more unique, but he's not a great shooter OR defender (nickkkkk must barf just reading his name). Mainly he's touted for his passing and size, and Karasev seems to be a pretty good passer, as well.

Basically I'm saying at least we know Karasev has a skill we know will translate well to the NBA (and one we obviously need). But he's not a one trick pony either.

Well I just think these playoffs series have proven that you need your wingman to be able to defend. Look at these guys:

Green/Kawhii/Stevenson/George/LeBron/Wade/Prince/Tony Allen

They're all great defenders.

If you're drafting a guy who can't defend late in the game, that's just gonna be the burden your team'll have to carry.

Hayward = Saric (pretty much)

Kerasev can shoot - but so what? So can Kyle Korver. Chicago couldn't bring him up defensively - do you think Ty can?

Give me a wing who can shoot the 3's, defend, and are happy being told what to do, over almost anything else, any day of the week.
