Following potential 2013 draftees

^^^

I know everyone kinda have their "preference" or "idea" of what a wing player should be.

There are numerous skills a wing / basketball player in general can have:

- Vision
- passing
- ball handling
- dribbling
- mid range
- slashing
- 3pt shooting
- defending
- finishing
- motor
- shot blocking
etc, ...

I'm just saying, if we're drafting a wing, I'd prefer him/her to have SOLID 3pt shooting and defensive skills. I'd put more weight on those 2 sets of skills over all others. Of course it's a bonus if they can do other things well as well, and you do need that as a player. But I'd put more "weight" on those 2 sets of skills.

It's just my preference.

Carry on...

I want a guy who can drive the ball with a tight handle, get in the paint and make a play. That's why I see so much potential in Archie Goodwin. We can get spot-up shooters as free agents. The thing that's rare is the crafty, quick guard with instincts and toughness that wreaks havoc on opposing defenses...like Manu Ginobli. To be honest, I still see some real potential in Tim Hardaway Jr.

Of course Ginobili is a good 3 pt shooter too. And he is a least average defensively. So the 3pt shooting and defense thought is still right. Ginobili is just a much better player than we are likely to find.

Saric vs Karasev

Discuss.

i much prefer Saric, overall, to translate smoother, and especially for the jazz.

Karaslav = Yaroslav Korolev

edit; i think karaslav is a baaad fit here in utah, at 6'7", Saric is very interesting, yall see these passes???

You're basically describing Gordon Hayward. He's even wearing Ginobili's #20.

I'm looking for someone that's a bit different... tougher defensively and also shooting 3's consistently.

I just can't understand why Karasev will be a defensive liability. He has a good size and his wingspan isn't that bad. He is just 19 and he will gain strength. He just needs to impove his defensive techniques.

Not disputing that... great defenders though are athletic and are fighters... they really get under your skin... think Ron Artest... Karasev ain't never gonna be Ron Artest.

why is 6'7" Karasev not redundant with Gordon and Burks again?

Saric is the best passer in this draft by a mile outside of PG's. and 6'10", i prefer him over Gallinari, more upside

if we go Saric, Larkin, Trade up for Timmy JR, and grab Richard Howell at 46. im very happy

i may prefer Bebe over Gobert and Adams, i want to hear how the private workouts go

if we took him @14 id probably have a big smirk on my face

I'm a bit "meh" on picking a big in this draft, unless it's absolutely necessary (both McCollum & Schroeder off the board).

If I'm forced to pick 1, then I'd rather get someone who can shoot it and space the floor for us. Someone who can play next to either Favors & Kanter as the 3rd big... so potentially someone not too raw, and can at least hit that 12 footer - which really boils down to Adams.

I know that's narrow, but it's that time of the year where we have to start narrowing down our options...

Just draft Erik Murphy in the 2nd round.
