Following Potential 2018 Draftees

I am still solidly on the train of draft the best 3/4. I think that is the direction the position is moving in the future and will give the Jazz the best chance to compete in the future.

I’m in the draft the best non center... unless you are absolutely effing convinced that you are getting a Gobert/Capela like prospect.

Drafting for positional need is a bad idea. Get the best player possible hopefully one with decent upside. I’m not really that excited after 11/12 in this draft tbh... no prospect that I really love in our range or hate.

I still like Troy Brown. I think he'll be a better pro than college player. He doesn't have super upside, but could be a solid rotation player. He'll at least be markedly better than Tyrone Wallace, who has been getting real minutes with the Clippers.

Tyrone Wallace is gonna stick in the NBA! Perhaps in a DeAndre Liggins type capacity he's got staying power though. Watching those Cal teams I always had a good feeling about his pro potential.

Troy Brown if he were to really develop into a knockdown shooter, which is unlikely, would have a ton of upside IMO.

Jazz or their fans don't need to concern themselves with him though. He's completely redundant to Exum, who imo is/was definitely a superior prospect..

There are some Capela like candidates in that range, which is the range Capela himself went in...

The closest is probably Maryland's Bruno Fernando, who could very well be staying to improve his stock for next years draft, possibly as high as the lotto..

The other, and now Capela plays the game with an indomitable will -- so he's not an ez comparison, would IMO be True-7footer, Mitchell Robinson.. He has elite physical tools, there's no question about that, u watch him play for like 5 minutes and you'll see it.

Mitchell Robinson directly benefits from Daniel Gafford returning to Arkansas for his Sophomore season too.

We all know nationally the Jazz fly way under the radar. People see the team in small spurts and are impressed though, because they have impressive players/system/coach etc. To me, Mitchell Robinson is the perfect kind of player for the Jazz in that respect, he's got major "who the hell is this guy" power... I still think he compares to Hassan Whiteside, and I think he can play some PF, he's got fantastic, WCS levels of agility and footspeed.

Mustapha Heron not only declares for the draft but hires an agent... There's some funny auburn related implications with this **cough** cheaters **cough**.. but since Heron is pretty good and way under the radar i'll keep this post about him.

He's only like 6'4", maybe a lil shorter. Tough as nails type of kid tho, he's got some skillz and he's an nba athlete for sure..

NBAdraftroom.com moved Isaac Bonga up to #20 in their latest draft mock. That's up 10 spots in the last two weeks. Not sure what prompted the rise. There hasn't been much info about him lately.

That’s interesting. I like Bonga, but see him as an early 2nd round Guy.

not hiring an agent though
He’ll get a 1st round grade and hire an agent. I fully expect him to look great at the combine. He’d have to screw up pretty badly to fall out of the 1st round, and I think he should come out if he has a 1st round grade.

I expect Zhaire Smith and Troy Brown to do the same as well. Think they’ll both test very well at the combine and solidify their position.

Nike Hoops Summit World team unveiled. Their gonna get obliterated it's mostly imported kids here in American HS's.

No Sekou Doumbouya, No Killian Hayes. No Luka Samanic. Next years squad will be much better.

RJ Barrett, Charles Bassey(This kid is an even better prospect than Derrick Favors, he's the real headliner IMO) and then 2020 N'Faly Dante are really the headline talents.

Josh Green (best guard since Exum from Australia)
Jaylen Hoard
Daniel Oturu
Leandro Bolmaro (idk him at all)
Bathiste Tchouaffe
Yago Dos Santos (5'9" PG... LOL their gonna get steamrolled)
Ignas Brazdeikis (This canadian kid kinda reminds me of Doug McDermott)
Kevin Zhang (Harvard bound 6'8" forward with nice skill and shooting touch)

Keep an eye on the N'Faly Dante, hes gotta be one of the younger participants in such a game, I saw this kid like 2 summers ago and he was like 6'7" with a 7'2: wingspan looked like a young Robert Williams....

Alright so I don't pay for any insider info as yall know. This above list has many names on it I know of that haven't really been discussed, so I'll get into it a bit more.

There is also some interesting positional and even height listings..

for example lets say Bruno Fernando is 6'11 as listed, that could change things. I do think some of these heights are guesstimates though. Jarred Vanderbilt is listed at 6'8" I'm pretty sure hes a legit 6'9".

first off Matur Maker who you see is in, thons brother. Is a legit player. He's like WAYYYYYYY better than Kostas Antetokounmpo.. He is leigt top-60 quality and has better potential than many bigs who've been drafted in the bottom of the 2nd rd over the years. He'd be lucky to land in Utah. this kid can do some things.
