Following Potential 2020 draftees

Yeah... I try to keep close tabs on the 'giants' (7'2+) and I can't say he looks all that promising (the Vanover Bro's look more servicable at this point and like legit 4-star quality). Van Komen might be more like 3-star...

I can throw together a pretty good sized list of Amateur giants on the radar and he'd certainly be near the bottom... Incremental improvements can mean big strides for players that size and he's certainly got plenty of time to improve... He might still be growing too, which may help or hurt his chances..... they had him at 7'3" like last year IIRC..

He's a 7'5" local kid to most on this forum and Shawn Bradley comparisons have been following hm for over a year already.. He reminds me a bit of the 7'5" dude I used to play pick up games against (who started playing ball in his later teenage years).

FWIW - Felipe Dos Anjos who'd be auto eligible for the draft in 2020 and 7'3" Jonathan Jeanne are at the top of my Giant list right now.. With Tacko Fall just a smidgen behind.

Good work man as always. But will those knees serve long enough in the NBA? Body language goes really down after a certain height threshold. So it kinda depends on the knee problems history genetically and the ceiling for the young guy's lower body to get stronger. Any other scenario makes guys like him China passenger in today's book of NBA pace.

I hope so, that sorta stuff is well out of my depth so I pretty much just give players benefit of the doubt and keep my ear to the ground...

They look kinda mobile (Not like Rudy tho obviously -- Who I wouldn't classify as a Giant coz he's 7'1" btw)

The gold standard for mobile giants right now are the previously mentioned Jeanne (who's a PF) and FSU So. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBQzCvgk548 - Dated footage from 2014. But after the 2nd dunk u can see just what kind of acceleration he's got, thats far from normal.... (Ben Simmons throwing him those passes if you're wondering Thats also DJ Hogg Texas A&M So. a possible 1st rd pick guarding Simmons)

His body language looks a lot better than the previous ones. After a certain height level, things other than height start to count more. Knee strength is one thing. Wingspan is another. Ability to raise arms quickly and react is much more important. Also for Gobert example he has the advantage of moving his feet really fast for his body. Shorter bigmen compared to him lack a lot of defensive footwork down low.

(Aussie prospect alert) There's a 6'5" CG in the HS class of 2019 that plays with DeAndre Ayton and Hillcrest Prep. He reminds me of current Oregon So. Tyler Dorsey and is probably still growing. Pretty sure he's gone from 6"1 to 6'5" in the last 3 years. He can shoot, he's athletic, looks long, flashes some combo skill..

I like his chances.

Johnny Juzang gets the PG_AB stamp of approval. I first heard of him last summer(he was listed 6'7" then and looks the same height.) He's legit. I hope UK offers.

He's actually gotta be the best prospect of Vietnamese descent to date.. He's in the HS class of 2020 so wouldn't be draft eligible til '21. Obvious pro tho... Older Bro plays for Harvard..

How tf is he 6'7 as a Freshman? His brother is just 6'2.

He's a super early bloomer and has been dunking for years, this is from Sept 2014..

When I first heard of him last summer he was definitely listed as a 6'7" guard.

That's just insane if he keeps growing, could end up having Paul George type size.

Johnny Juzang sounds like a fake movie star name or an action hero. Alabama gave him a scholarship offer last April, Arizona St and USC have confirmed offers too. Every school on the west coast is gonna roll out the red carpets for him.

6'9" Chandler Lawson just dunked at the end of this game to break the tie and beat #2 Montverde Academy and RJ Barrett who many have #1 in the class of 2019

I'd be shocked if Andrew Nembhard doesn't get drafted,, he just turned 17 today and is a Sophomore in HS tho.... a true floor general and about 6'4".

Time to knock the dust off this thread. The first few pages here are rather poor for my standards so excuse me while i flood some updates.

This will be a turbulent draft class, obviously this nonsense with the fbi investigations and all the cheaters has turned 2018 into a special year of turbulence, this class though will have more of the 2013 draft black cloud hanging over it.

People don't like this class, they say it's weak. I say that opinion is weak, and won't stand the test of time...

I have a theory as to how this misconception about 2019's weakness came to pass.. part of it is people looking ahead at some of the obvious gems in 2020 and 2021..

First things first Ashton Hagans moving up to 2018 is a serious blow, surely there will be reinforcements on the way from overseas though... What this class really lacks, ASIDE FROM BRYAN ANTOINE, is firepower at the guard spots...

The saving grace of that HS class will be the 6'8"-6'9" combo-forward types, u can take it to the bank. Allonzo Gaffney from Cleveland is absurdly underrated, if this class is that bad why are there like 18 players ahead of him on the consensus??

Keion Brooks is also underrated... i actually never bought the Christian brown top-10 hype, but he's settled in around the 30's which is still great value.. Wendell Moore resides in this range... Chandler Lawson is particularly underrated though, some have dropped him to almost 40...

This bigman Carl Lewis from Cali looks crazy underrated at 31... !!!!

Josh Green in the 30's is crazy too.. He apparently impressed NBA execs at the BWB camp.

A player like jeremiah robinson-earl or PJ fuller, or Zach harvey in the 30's, these players could have significant upside...

many of these names i've just mentioned will outperform their ranking and make up for the perceived slack in the class, I could expound further but y'all get the point.

few quick hits bout them top-10 players more for good measure; Charles Bassey as like the 4th best player in the class, thats ridiculous, that kid is not Cliff Alexander, he's going straight to the lottery..

Precious Achuwia is gonna be a monster..

James Wiseman a legit 7' tall too..

Alright so here is one of my absolute favorite players from this class, I'm pissed I didn't mention him earlier... 6'2" 5-star lead guard, Tyrese Maxey, from Garland Texas. This kid IMO is can't miss, i'll be shocked if he doesn't end up in the 1st round.

This kid who's a true Utah native (many of the top Utah players are kind of out-of-state [or country] kids playing at Wasatch tbh)

(footage is from the summer)

Isaac Johnson, 6'11" big, who plays at American Fork, is worthy of mention here.. Would be a major pull to keep in-state too.

There's 3 imported bigs in this class near the 40-50 ranking that have pro upside for sure.

6'11" (powerful long and explosive) Kofi Cockburn (Jamaica), 7-foot (long skinny light on feet) Christian Koloko (Cameroon), and to a lesser extent 6'10" (most raw, very good athlete tho) Aidan Igehorn, whos from Ireland.

I really like Killian Hayes (France) chances... 6'4" combo guard, looks to have very high upside. Born Summer of 2001.
