Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Is there anyone anywhere that doesn't think that Charlotte won't draft VJ if he is available? I tend not to believe rumors but this seems to be a universal sentiment

No one knows how the Charlotte GM operates because he's only made two moves and they were both catastrophic (the Salaun pick and trying to scam the Lakers with Mark Williams)

So a lot of stuff could happen here.

Charlotte is already invested in high-volume shooters Lamelo and Brandon Miller, which makes it less likely that it's a high priority to add another in Tre Johnson or Ace Bailey. However, if VJ is gone at #3, draftniks think Charlotte could take Tre or Knueppel.

There's also a funky rumor floating around that the Clippers are somehow going to trade for Lamelo this summer. So who knows...

The CHO podcast guys seem 100% convinced that VJ is their guy based on what their GM “says” he wants. But what a GM says is not the same thing as what he does.

Easy to like Tre’s personality. Seems like a great kid and that he knows what he needs to work on. Like that he’s open to changing his game.
I like that a lot more than, "Criticisms of me stem from the weakness of basketball cowards who I am better than and work harder than."

Ace's answers give me the ick bad.

I think it’s extra important to have self aware players who have the right attitude when you’re tanking. I like Ace, but he should really go to a team like PHI where there will be vets to humble him and teach him to play the right way. It’s just different when it’s PG and Embiid vs Mills and Eubanks. I think our tanking situation would let Ace settle into his bad habits.

Tre mentioned all the things the concerns I have with him. Could be lip service, but it is way better than “I’m right, you’re wrong”.

Saw Givony on ESPN earlier today, he said not all teams have loved Ace's personality and fun-loving nature in his interviews. Said VJ has been much more polished in his interviews and has a real chance at being the 3rd pick.

Assessing outcomes based on interview profiling is difficult. Player development based on mindset is such a tricky thing to project since even the draft results themselves may affect the mindset and thus influence the path (high picks may end up entitled while low picks may end up with a mindset that they have something to prove).

That being said I do join the chorus in liking that Tre interview. Whether he is honest or well trained to give good answers.. I dont have a freaking clue.
