Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Hot take... Jeremiah Fears is a jumpshot away from being the second best player in this draft... and he's shooting 85% from FT....

Could be honestly. Needs to bulk up and get better at finishing, but those aren’t just realistic developments they are ones you would expect. Also, NCAA PG’s who get drafted in the 3-8 range have the best hit rate/lowest bust rate.

With that said….just not for me. I don’t have great reasoning for it, just a feeling.

This is where I am at today. I only went as far as I care about. If I didn't name them, I am ambivalent on them as of today.

-Flagg
-Harper
-Essengue
-VJ
-Tre
-Kon
-Fleming
-Ace
-Fears
-CMB
-Penda
-Egor
-Jace
-Yang
-Thiero
-Clayton Jr
-Traore
-Coward
-Wolf
Oddly........nothing has changed here as of today.

He has the best singular skill out of anybody in the draft. Who's the last player to come into the NBA with better handle and control of the ball? Kyrie?

That's like... over a decade since the last one who was at that level. One might call his ballhandling ... "generational"?!

Seeing some Wizards fans reminding people that this Ace stuff sounds familiar. They got Sarr to “force” his way there in large part to the freedom and role he would receive. And the Wizards delivered. They let him do whatever the F he wanted to do. Unlimited shots/freedom is probably going to be appealing to Ace. Would t surprise me if they sold him on the same message.

After watching Ace 's interviews, he seems like a dude who would make bad decisions during the draft process. Not working out for teams could be a big mistake.

I don't mind it. He believes in himself and he's trying to steer himself into a situation where he can take off. Meanwhile, the Jazz are about to get a bunch of offers for the #5 pick

More from Givony below. It sounds like Ace is trying to land on the east coast (e.g., Brooklyn or Washington).

"Some teams question whether Bailey has received assurances of being selected by a team currently outside the top five, to a situation deemed more advantageous from a geographic and playing time perspective.

Bailey is scheduled to conduct a workout with the 76ers later this week, but it's unclear if he plans to visit any other teams at this stage. Should the Sixers pass on him, he could very well slide to the No. 6 or No. 7 picks, two teams in Washington and New Orleans that are said to be highly intrigued with the 18-year-old's talent. And both are situations in which there appear to be plenty of minutes and shots to be had." -- Givony

Admittedly, the fact that the Jazz have been discussing guys like Fears, Kon and even Maluach does paint the picture that there's been a problem with Ace.

If it were me, I'd be willing to draft him anyway.

ESPN on the 5th pick (they have the Jazz taking Tre)

"Bailey, who continues sliding down the board in this scenario, doesn't appear to have much interest in Utah and is viewed by most teams as a riskier bet. Expect Jeremiah Fears, and Knueppel, if available, to receive long looks as well. -- Woo"

I think this Ace situation is really gonna be viagra for old man Ainge. If he is there at 5 he will want to recreate a version of the Fultz Tatum heist and I could see a trade back scenario where he gets one of Wiz/Brook/NO to give something up and still get his guy. They are somewhat telegraphing their intentions and wouldn't do so without some assurances.

Danny is ready to do this dance one last time.

If Ace is available at 5, he's probably not viewed as an elite prospect around the league.

I think its DC or Brooklyn... Ainge gonna sniff this out and call their bluff.

Bruh teams are angling with him to get him in. He is also really talented. I'd probably still just take him and flip him or just keep him.

That worked great for Rutgers last year.
