Yeah, but comps can be a useful tool when done right - when they compare a draft prospect with NBA players who, before entering the NBA, were similar to the prospect in question (age, skillset, archetype, playing style, physical attributes, etc), and then see how these NBA players developed over time.

He's not a "floor leader". He's a connective piece who can really really shoot it. There are dozens of players like that in the NBA. They are all different in their own ways and Kon will be different in his own way.

Kon isnt some complex puzzle to figure out. He's one of the easiest players to project in the draft, which is partly why he's so highly regarded amongst NBA teams.

Maybe he figures out off the dribble shooting and he becomes a dangerous 1-2 dribble player. Maybe he draws fouls at a slightly higher rate than other players in his role and he has a bit more scoring value.

The only real question on Kon is how his defense translates to the NBA.

My pet theory is that the Jazz are showing interest in Knueppel in order to deter Charlotte from trading their pick to Washington or New Orleans.

If the Jazz don’t think he can play on the ball at the NBA level, I don’t see how he’s a top 5 pick ahead of the likes of Ace and Fears.
