Following Potential 2025 Draftees

The problem is the way it was written in the article wasn’t theoretical. It was super vague on purpose to be interpreted in multiple ways.

Then he says it was theoretical and not reporting then says his reporting is misrepresented. See the problem with that?
I didn't read the report, so I'll take your word for it. More generally, I think that the entire enterprise of sport reporting lacks a good deal of credibility with a good share of it being click bait BS, unsourced speculation, rumor mongering, hot takes, etc. There seems to be relatively little careful, sourced, facts-based reporting nowadays. A tale tell indicator of this is ESPN, which has transitioned away from actual sports reporting to Bros in tank tops and loud mouth shouters whose primary role seems to be generating hot takes and clicks and who wouldn't recognize solid, facts-based reporting or nuance if it walked up and bit them in the arse. What were once reporters are now personalities. Jake is but a minor manifestation of the rot that's infected sports journalism. Ragging on him is like ragging on the busboy at the Cheesecake Factory for the overpriced slop you just ate.

I think a lot of those reporters want to have their cake and eat it too. They want to be reporters, but then they want to be able to say at any point "oh well, that wasn't a report, just some speculation" ... well if you are in the business of reporting, you should be extremely clear when you deviate from that and speculate or theorize...
The problem is that in today's sports reporting, reporting and speculation have pretty much merged. Again, Jake isn't doing anything different that what is the norm in the industry. He's one small pustule in a body entirely covered by open, fetid ulcers.

100%. Hit the nail on the head.

Let's say 1-4 is Flagg/Harper/VJ/Kon, then Utah trades 5 to New Orleans. NOLA takes Ace at 5, then Washington takes either Tre/Malauch/Fears. If Fears is the real target, that would be kind of scary because I'm not sure which way Washington would go at 6.
If Ace is there at five we sure as hell better draft the hell out of him. We can’t pass his upside up.

You know what I love about Fears and his handle? I love that it's not just flash and empty calories. His handle actually serves a purpose and it gets him literally every place he wants on the floor. It gets him past defenders, it gets him in the paint, it gets him to the line, it creates advantages of the sort that require help and thus opens passing opportunities.

I teased this earlier, but I think I'm ready to say it... I will have Fears at no. 3 on my final board next week and I'd be ecstatic if we drafted him. He needs to figure out his 3p jumper, but even there we have some promising indicators...
If the Jazz draft Fears I'll put him #1 on my board.

lmao, werent you always a big Fischer guy?
I still like him... you think him beating up on @Elizah Huge makes me not like him? It increases my love for him.

I haven't been able to listen or enjoy his work since he moved behind a paywall. I just think its funny to lean into the people's insider and then go behind a paywall. So yeah I'm going to give him some garbage lol.

He was mad at EH because he told someone that we talk with not to subscribe because he passes on the info... if he Jake is just speculating I don't think you want it in an article where you are giving updates and stuff like that. I'm sure he was just pissy about the other message.

Rafael Barlowe thinks that New Orleans is a team that wants Ace. Maybe NOLA moves up to #4 with Charlotte, so the draft would go:
1) DAL - Flagg
2) SAS - Harper
3) PHI - Edgecombe
4) NOL - Bailey
5) UTA - Johnson
6) WAS - Fears
7) CHA - Knueppel or Jakucionis

I could also see them moving up to 3 but the price is A LOT. Now why any prospect would want to go to NO is beyond me. Completely dead market... I actually thought about flying into NO to see a game and sit on or near the floor because it was so cheap. The owner doesn't care about the team. Culture is non-existant... not like a market that will get eyeballs.

I would be steering my way away from NO more than any team tbh.

I don’t know if Ace wants to go to Nawlins, but the Pels are said to want him.

I’ve actually become a little intrigued by Riley’s offensive game. High feel player. But then I remember he’s a horrible defensive prospect. He and McNeely are having an extreme mid-off in my mind. Don’t think either are top 30 prospects.
