Following Potential 2025 Draftees

I would be more open to Tre Johnson if he could beat guys off the dribble and get to the FT line. It’s a possibility that he develops that in the NBA, but if you can’t get to the hoop or FT line in college chances are you can’t do that in the NBA either. And again, it could happen. It’s just rare and not something I’d count on. Tough shot making isn’t a more valuable skill to me than creating efficient shots. Tre is an elite shooting prospect, but the rest of his game leaves a lot to be desired.

I think he be coached up on how to get in to a guys' chest and get shots up after contact. There are some guys that just don't like contact, and I suppose he could be that, but when I watched him play it just felt like didn't know what to do.

Apologies if this has already been posted, but this NBA scout (at least that what he claims) who is doing these breakdowns of all the draft guys absolutely gushes over Danny Wolf, says he can contribute in the NBA right away. What he points out is pretty compelling, but my biggest problem is that he is only watching highlights of his makes, not any of his misses.

His FTr and rim rate could improve…History just says it’s unlikely. When it does happen, it’s usually a guy who expanded his role in the NBA. He’s probably going to rely on being a very elite jump shooter and score like Hero, Murray, McCollum etc. And to be fair to Tre, he might just be that guy. His shooting was incredible. It’s just a tough way to make a living in the NBA and he’s not my preferred archetype as we’ve discussed before.

Ringer's primary comp is Gordon Hayward...with a little Kennard and Sczerbiak sprinkled in.
Gordo was a much better athlete and bigger... but also not as good of a shooter. I really think like a mix of Bane and Ingles (joe had way more length but still) are some of the comps I like the best. I think there could be some Booker in there but not quite as athletic.

He has enough size that his shooting, processing and motor will make him a contributor. Even if the ceiling is a little lower.

Gonna be honest, I value the opinion of people here more than this guy. The members here have put more thought into their opinion. This is just a video of a guy watching highlights of a prospect for the very first time. Most of us our highlight watchers, but it seems like this is the first time he has ever watched Wolf play basketball or looked at his stats.

Dont we have a better version of Wolf at home?

I think so...Wolf has more guard skills, but Flip is more athletic. A lot of the guys I'd consider at 21 are "can he shoot" kind of prospects. That bet hit with Flip. Gf we make another bet on a questionable shooter I'd like a different kind of player. Guys like Sorber, Thiero, Hugo etc. aren't as quirky and unique as Wolf, but I think they are more likely to hit and also for better reward.

Yeah having too many 7 footers that can dribble, facilitate and shoot (sorta) is lame AF.
It will be on defense. If he was as good as Flip I'd still take him because 21st pick is a crap shoot. I'd likely just gamble on a different guy working out.

Thiero is the guy for me I would absolutely gamble on at 21, for the record.

The boards at the major outlets are wild right now. Vecenie did a mock draft the other day with his pod partner and Jase fell to the late 20s.

I think there will just be better bets than Wolf. If he could actually shoot right now I might be more inclined. But if Jase, Fleming, Sorber, Hugo, McNeeley, Traore were there I think I'd rather swing for one of those guys.

I think Flip is better than Wolf at everything except maybe ball handling... and I am not sure Wolf will be allowed to really do the things he is unique at in the pros.

If he did Filipowski last year did he get this excited? I mean good lord this was a bit creepy how much he was gushing over wolf.

Alright so I think there will be some really interesting guys I would want to take a swing on in the 10-14 range. I think I have a plausible three team deal with Milwaukee and Dallas.

We move from 21 to 11 in this scenario. Milwaukee would add an extra second to Dallas or us... but they get three rotation pieces... 2 starters... and cap flexibility. They'd do it whether or not Giannis asks out.

Hmm...I find this interesting. Both MIL and DAL will need a PG. I wonder if Key fits into this somehow. I could see Key going to DAL, and Sexton going to MIL instead of Klay or I can see Key going to MIL and keeping Sexton->DAL and Klay->MIL. Obviously if we add Key we add more compensation from somewhere.

So was Frank Kaminsky.

The point is that Wolf is a seven foot guard. That’s what makes him special.
Yeah, he's not a guard lmfao.

He's a poor man's Filipowski who looks nice on highlights. I dont hate Wolf, I still have him somewhere in the 20's, but Raynaud is a lot more talented IMO and his game translates more easily.
