I also didn't like the new scene with Littlefinger and Cersei at all. It seemed very out-of-character for Littlefinger to be that ham-fisted with threats. He's not a guy who makes mistakes like that.

This really ticked me off. There was nothing like that in the book and like you said, Littlefinger is too calculated and smart to be doing stuff like that.

On a side note for those of you who can't seem to figure this out, it's Joffrey, not Geoffrey.

I heard there were a lot of discrepancies between the book and the 2nd episode. Have you read the books btw? Just curious how many of us out there have actually gone through the whole series.

Oh yeah, I've definitely read the books. I think they're eclipsed for me by Robin Hobb's Farseer and Tawny Man trilogies, as well as Watership Down (although that one is less traditional fantasy), but they're my faves after that. Well, at least the first three books.

And yeah, there are more new scenes and changes in episode 2, including another new Littlefinger scene... thankfully one I didn't mind as much.

You just made my life better with that comment. I couldn't wait all week. King Joffrey has superb acting skills to have everyone hate him so much, I would immediately want to slap him if I saw him on the street. I hope he does well in the future.
 
I have wanted to watch this show but am just so busy. How good is it compared to other HBO greats like The Sopranos and The Wire? Equally as strong or just a notch below?
